*chills. bad-ass like shaft. the anti-hero to end all anti-heros, i think. (that's gonna be one heck of a viewing audience: trekkies, summer-movie thrill seekers, fangirlies, little old ladies who watch PBS, oh my )

I started to listen to the first episode of Neverwhere, but as I am not a native speaker I had difficulties to understand everything. Does anybody know if one can find subtitels/text somewhere to read while listening?
Would you like to hear Benedict as Islington singing?

very much enjoying the show~somewhere between fairy tale & horror story. and yes, i came a little undone with the singing~it was really beautiful.

i watched this last night.

billy wilder only made at least three of the greatest movies ever, Double Indemnity (perfection), The Apartment, and lost weekend (this, days of wine&roses with jack lemmon & lee remick & Prime Suspect: the final act THE most harrowing portrayals of alcoholism, for me), so it's surprising i never saw it. it was bawdier than i expected, i was tired but it kept me up, i see it paralells the closest to OUR favorite. cool.

this was an excellent movie. reminded of a certain type of french movie (l'ete meurtrier, le boucher, all about small villages and their secrets). fantasic cast and i liked that not every single question was answered. everybody in the story was walking wounded (some a hotter mess than the others but i digress), it was touching & disturbing. ultimately: dawn loves david & david loves dawn, so i lean to they worked it out to the happy ending (love saves the day).
ps. i did make a booknote and read the gilmore book afterwards. horrifying.

(ps to my post last night). Things that are easily misunderstood. Nattering on under painkillers is probably not good, here goes.. it's obvious how dedicated he is to his craft, yet, as others here and elsewhere have remarked, can be in costume but noticably not in character.bewtween takes, for instances. that's v. good, trust me.no one is accusing anyone of insincerety nor that one would confuse anyone with their roles. it's the person themselves who makes their work great and is the most interesting. savvy?
