My son is a Sharpe fan!

Good for him! It's a great series, and that time period is one of my favorite historical time periods.

Jason Salkey (Rifleman Harris in the series) is one of my facebook friends, and yes, he actually does his own posting (one of the few celebrities who do)! I've purchased some of his Rifleman Harris dvd diaries and he included several cast photos which he had signed. The diaries are like a "behind the scenes" documentary that he filmed himself while the series was being filmed.

Yes! Agreed!

Bernard Cornwell was adopted and was brought up in Thundersley, in Essex, which is not far from where I live.

I think he lives in US now with American wife, not sure where but I think New England somewhere.

Sharpe shooter?

Are you referring to Sean Bean's Sharpe series? Great series, love it, have most of the episodes on dvd and also own and have read the books.

Ah, I see... For some strange reason I thought it might have some connection to my other favorite actor, Sean Bean, lol

Hello and welcome, Rhyolight!

I'm a trekker since the early days of the original series. I also like Next Generation, but didn't care much for Deep Space 9 or Voyager. I'm looking forward to seeing BC in the newest ST movie when it comes out next May. Also looking forward to seeing MF in Hobbitt.

Just a side note...I have cousins living in Epping and Henniker.

Hello and welcome John F Watson!

I grew up watching Basil Rathbone as Sherlock, but I have recently discovered Jeremy Brett and like him as well.

Hello and welcome, Schmiezi!

I grew up watching Basil Rathbone as Sherlock, but have recently started watching Jeremy Brett and find that I like his version as well.

I've introduced my oldest grandson (age 14) to Sherlock, and now he has added the Sherlock DVDs and the ACD stories to his wish list for Christmas. We have lots of fun discussions about Sherlock!
