I was so disappointed with episode 2 that I just went ahead and read about ep 3, so I sort of know what happens. And it sounds a little repetitive. No vault, just like no "code" for Moriarity. Ugh.

I agree bringing Moriarity back would be a mistake. I would be ok with an elaborate ruse, like Moriarity toying with Sherlock from beyond the grave, orchastrated by one of his "network" or something like that. Any way they can have Andrew Scott in the ep without Moriarity being alive is almost ok with me. I love him in that role, but there needs to be a new bad guy or guys.

I don't get how they can keep Mary around with what I've heard goes on in ep 3. So I guess she'll die or get divorced, but either way I don't think I'll enjoy the storyline. I'm disappointed to hear that Gatiss said the story is less important than the characters. That's the beginning of the end for any show. I don't want to watch a soap opera about relationships. I want to watch a mystery with a crazy anti-hero at the center of it.

I liked the nods to the fans in Empty Hearse, but lets keep those to a minimum. If baby Watson has to come along, again a little bit goes a long way. Sherlock was funny and entertaining before the descent into slapstick that was Sign of Three, they don't need to beat us over the head with all the ridiculous fish-out-of-water ideas they can come up with. Oh look, Sherlock's drunk. Oh look, Sherlock is talking to a kid. Oh look, Sherlock is trying to have a girlfriend. Oh look, Sherlock likes to dance. Stop. Just stop.

With all their talk about how "rich" the source material is, I can't believe Gatiss and Moffat couldn't find three good mysteries to adapt, given the 2 years they had to produce them.

Would it be out of line to ask for a Spoiler warning? I know there's a huge sign on the forum that basically says there's going to be spoilers everywhere, but this is the Empty Hearse area and I've seen that ep but not the others since they havent aired in the US.

I'd like to be able to talk about the ep with everyone while it's still new (to me, and other US folks) and not have to wait till all three have aired to come into the forum at all. Truly asking if that's out of line or not.

I'm trying to figure out if I can afford to go to London for this. Does anyone know when final details about the production would have to be worked out? I mean, we don't even know who else will be in it or where it will be, and it's presumably only about, what, 8, 9, months away? I don't know anything about the timeline for productions like this, just wondering when we will know more. Guess I'm used to movies, everything being announced months in advance.

Well, everyone can relax now. Turns out he was brilliant. The whole show was so cool, the music, the humor, all the performances. I feel so lucky to have been able to see it.

I've decided I need to see Benedict dance (other than that great candid YouTube vid of course). If I didn't know who he was I'd have sworn he was a trained modern dancer after seeing this performance. And I'm no longer confused about how or why he did the motion capture for Smaug. He. Is. A. Genius.

I read that this show had the most encore performances of any NTLive play. It's easy to see why. What a great idea this is, to let people everywhere be able to (affordably) experience the best live theater in the world!

I have tickets for Tom Hiddleston's Coriolanus next month. Let the parade of brilliance continue!

I'm always up for more talking about Tom Hiddleston/Loki. This is one Midgardian who would be happy to kneel, say his name, and submit to his benevolent rule, if you know what I mean.

Went to see Dark World on a whim, had seen Avengers and didn't think much of Loki at the time (how was that possible? No one knows). This movie turned me around in a major way. I've now gone back and watched the original, rewatched Avengers, and yes, saw The Dark World in the theater a SECOND time. 

Without rehashing what everyone's already said - bottom line, I adore these movies (high art, no, but super fun and better than most in the genre). And I adore Tom. Loki is a gift of a character, and Tom was born to play him. 

Definitely loved the Loki stuff in this movie the most. He got to be angry, sad, funny, clever, sweet, heroic, and of course devious and manipulative, all at once! Everything Loki should be. I LOVE that they gave him a chance to be with the "good guys" this time, and I love how they constantly walked that line of not making him totally trustworthy but at the same time allowing him to be noble. Kind of like pre-revelation Loki in the first movie, only so much more satisfying because of all he's been through.

Favorite part - the escape. The shapeshifting, the "hero shot" of Loki and Thor walking through the hall, all the Warriors threatening to kill him, his reaction when Jane smacked him, the banter in the ship, aaaahhhhh such cuteness! My affection for Thor is defined by Loki - I don't care about his growth or his relationship with Jane or his taking or not taking the throne, I only really care about his relationship with his brother. I feel like you can really see how much he just wants his brother back, through all the movies. It's very sweet. And inevitably sad.

 

Ha! I'm with you, SolarSystem!  Just saw Thor today. Pointless if it weren't for Tom Hiddleston, just like life  

I accidentally fell in love with him the other night and had to immediately go out and see him all big-screened out and Loki-ed up. So freakin' great. When the first Thor came out I didn't really understand the fascination with Loki, but needless to say I get it now. I. Get. It. I want to be his best friend. I just want to hang out with Loki, play poker, watch movies, take over planets. 

I saw the trailer in the theater today!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! 

I don't really care what critics of any kind have to say, I dearly love Peter Jackson's LOTR and Hobbit. *Dearly.* I'm not sure what could make me more happy than having John and Sherlock together in one of these movies! All my favorite things happening at once! AAH!

He sounds SPECTACULAR in this trailer. I cannot WAIT to see this!! Seriously. Ugh, so excited. 

Saw it several weeks ago. It's a gorgeous movie. Everyone in it is absolutely brilliant and perfect in their role. I really can't say enough about how good it is, from the music to the cinematography, eveything. Benedict's character is very likeable in the context of the story. 

While it is graphic and very upsetting, it does not go overboard on the violence. It's just real, it gives you a sense of being there. It's hard to watch, but everyone should watch it. 

My friend, who I spent weeks begging to watch Sherlock and finally did, told me today that she had a dream Sherlock was in love with her! And they were kissing! She described it as "intense." I told her I was pretty upset with her  

I asked if he was wearing The Coat, because she loves The Coat. She said "No, he was shirtless." I told her we can't be friends anymore
