Maybe that was the best- okay let's say 'only' way to hide his crew. I wasn't even trying to get the plot in detail but... umm... I'm sure he had his reasons

Lol, thanks, that actually helps. I think I'll choose to believe it was LITERALLY THE ONLY OPTION IN THE UNIVERSE. Wish they could have snuck a line in there about it.

Can we talk about how sexy it was when Kirk was hitting him and he was just standing there? Is that wrong, that I was turned on by that? And by the part where he asks Kirk if he wants to hit him "over and over..."  Alright, I'm going to go seek professional help.

Merry! They are going to be in a film together. It is already filmed and is in post-production. It is called: 12 Years A Slave. The director is Steve McQueen. Look on the Benedict's Non-Sherlock section and you will see a thread for it. Personally, I cannot wait!

um....SAY WHAT NOW??!?! Holy guacamole. Not sure I can handle this information. I hope they screen it in my local Emergency Room because I'm gonna need immediate medical attention after seeing Ben and Michael at the same time.

Eeeek! This sounds wonderful! Three of my favorite people together in one movie!! Is it my BIRTHDAY??

Now can we get the universe to work in putting Ben in a film with Michael Fassbender? Preferably one where they make out? That'd be great, thanks!

I'm dying for the DVD as well, so I can ffwd through all the non-Benedict parts (although Scotty is fabulous).

Has anyone else seen those videos on YouTube "everything wrong with [insert movie] in less than 4 minutes"? I can't wait for them to do one on this movie. Not to be negative about it, I really did enjoy it, but as a super geeky trekkie, I did think there were some plot holes. For one thing, WHY ON EARTH WOULD HE SMUGGLE HIS CREW INSIDE TORPEDOS? What exactly was the plan there? Seems more than a teensy bit dangerous.

Hi from Maryland! That picture in your avatar - Sherlock on the rock in Hounds...my VERY FAVORITE shot of Benedict in the whole series! Particularly when they cut to his face, don't know why but he looks ESPECIALLY perfect there. I just want to lick him like an ice cream cone. Yum.

But anyway, welcome!

oooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmggggggggggggggg

I am freaking OUT! Just got back from seeing it. I mean, if I was a little bit tipsy on Ben before, I am fully DRUNK now! Drunk on cheekbones, unruly hair, long black coats and the voice of a freakin angel.

I can't...I can't even...I just can't.

Did he have any lines that *weren't* double entendres? The part where he says "I'm better" and Kirk says "At what?" and he's like "Everything." AAAAAAAAAAAAhAHAHAHAHA. Here's a short list of things he's better than everyone in the world at:
Speaking
Running
Jumping
Fighting
Thinking
Wearing coats
Being a bad-ass
Crying
Manipulating
Having perfect hair
Having messed up hair

I may never forgive JJ Abrams for cutting the shower scene. Like, for realz.

I absolutely freaking loved all his clothes, as someone else mentioned. The coats! Oh my gosh. The one on Kronos was stunning, but then he randomly picks up another one while *running* through the streets of San Francisco trying to disguise himself, and it just *happens* to be another long, dark, sexy, tall-collared masterpiece that makes him look extra sinister/mysterious. Thank you, wardrobe department. Thank. You.

I'm not even sure if I liked the movie or not. Like seriously, I don't know, because all I could focus on was his pretty, pretty face. I think it was alright. Acutally, there were like 7 million plot holes, as always with sci fi movies, but who cares! Ben looked hot! Like, 100% of the time!

I HAVE A DATE WITH BENEDICT TOMORROW!!! Finally going to see this, I can't WAIT! I'm a big ST fan, love Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto in these roles, and Ben is going to be the hot, sexy icing on the already delightful cake. So excited. That voice in surround-sound...somebody bring the defibrillator.

I think I'd go with Iago or Richard III. Definitely prefer villians and anti-heros, although I do worry that after Star Trek he'll be type-cast as the new English villain in every hollywood movie, like Sean Bean and Alan Rickman.

Sherlock: I don't do that.
John: Yeah, you do.

I have heard that that whole bit was an ad lib. If so, it was inspired, and I'm glad they kept it in.

Wow, that information makes me really happy. I love ad-libs in scripted shows, and that was a brilliant one. Martin strikes again.

Numerous people have already mentioned my two favorites, both from the same scene: the "punch me in the face" exchange and the "I had bad days!" exchange. Sherlock has some of the most perfectly-written, perfectly-delivered lines I've ever seen on a TV show, and yet my two favorite deliveries are from Martin.

It's so hard to choose, everything they write for these characters is brilliant. Every time Sherlock gets into one of those long, super-fast monologues...sigh...my feelings cannot be expressed in human language.

I drempt about Sherlock immediately after watching the first episode. It was just a part of a dream, me and him in 221b talking. All I remember is that he was asking me rapid-fire questions and at the end when he told me what it all meant he hugged me. It felt nice

I'm jealous. I haven't been able to convert anyone. I keep telling people at work about it but no one has watched it. I do have one friend who's seen it, but he's a guy so I can't fangirl with him

Davina - who is your crush???? I will admit that my biggest crush at the moment is also not Benedict, although he's very close. Really my crush is more on Sherlock though. But anyway, currently my heart throbs most for Ben Daniels. Also, your avatar is *killing* me. Is that a nod to the otters-that-look-like-benedict-cumberbatch meme, or do you just really like round adorable baby Asian small-clawed otters? Cuz I do.

Harriet - I've SEEN Amazing Grace! Oh well, I guess I'm gonna hafta rewatch it! Right along with Tinker Tailor, which is where I first saw Benedict. I remember really liking his character in that and literally wishing I found him attractive. I should probably confess that I don't think Ben is all that pretty, not like Michael Fassbender or Dominic West. He's odd-looking, which I love, and there's a THING about him. He has a...you know...je ne sais qoui. I like that it's that and not the way he looks that makes him sexy, very much like Gary Oldman - not classically good looking, but oh so hot, at least when he was younger (I personally still think he's hot but I have a thing for old British guys).

You're probably right. The non-comedians do tend to fade a bit to the background, I guess I was just thinking he's smart and funny and it would be awesome to see Stephen flirt with him

Hi Elvina! I'm new too! And of *course* you're in love with Sherlock! Because, you know, you have *eyes*.

But seriously, what's with charming TV sociopaths? I was fascinated by Dexter too. Real life ones are not usually that fun.

No way, for realz? What is it? (I know I could just look on IMDB but asking you is more fun)

I've seen the one with Ioan and LaStrade Loved it.
