I watched it last night. Oh dear, oh dear...what the hell did they do to poor Ben's mouth? That was so unnecessary. It distracted me terribly.

Lovely piece to look at; but unfortunately I'm not warming up to the characters or any of their privledged, conflicted issues so far. I do like Ben best - especially in that scene where he comforts the little boy back to sleep and when he gently introduced him to that gorgeous little pony. Otherwise, I'm not loving it as much as I wanted to. Well, tonight is another 2 episodes. Maybe I'll change my mind.

I'm with you on both counts. Ben sounds like someone punched him in the mouth and he is also walking like a gorilla

So far after watching first two hours I can see why it is so hard to cram 800 pages of book into five hours. But I will reserve final judgment until I have seen it all. It is a bit disconcerting to see stuffy Ben fall for Valentine a boyish imp of a waif who seems about half his age. Personally, I see no chemistry there at all. i do like the nutty Reverend Duchemin. He is hilarious

This is exactly how I felt as well. I wanted so much to love it, like I wanted to love the book. But, both were just too hard for me to connect with emotionally and if I can't connect there's not much point in taking the journey with the characters.

I just the last episode with The Ponds and I have to say I was a little disappointed in their exit. They were such a big part of the show and I guess I really expected something drmatic and emotional. It kind of was, but somehow it also left something to be desired. And, Stephen Moffat isn't one to let me down, so it was kind of surprising. I will miss Amy and Rory and I'm wary of the new companion, hoping she'll be dfferent enough from Amy to allow me to find a new joy in the show.

Wow, all your dog biting stories sound so horrifying and scary. I'm a huge dog lover and know they can turn on you and cause serious harm, but imagining it and hearing about it are two different things. I'm glad you all had positive outcomes from your encounters and that you still love the animals afterwards.

Wonderful episode. I loved how Martin stood up for himself in the interview.

I loved that too! He knew what was going on and decided to make the best of it and not just let them get away with putting him through the interview for nothing. He had his moments, but overall he gave that inetrview heart and I would have hired him too. It's so sad though, as I don't want him to leave his little dysfunctional family. Carolyn needs to come into some money or something, so she can afford to keep MJN going and start paying Martin. But, however it goes, hats off to John for a great clifhanger and creating a wonderful show.

We had a blizzard over the weekend. Over a foot of snow. It was so not fun. I got a day off work, as a result, but the subsequent traffic and impossible parking situation make it so not worth it. I would rather have no snow and be able to go to work. My landlord plowed my parking lot out really quick the next morning, but getting around is still a challenge. And, people just forget how to drive when there's snow falling or on the ground, it's so annoying.

Really, really enjoyed X-Men: First Class. Not my usual sort of film but wow! Fassbender as Magneto was amazing.

I loved First Class too. Michale Fassbender was outstanding as Magneto. I'd definitely join the dark side for him.

To this day I want the blooper reel to be released for this one. Yes you know poor Benedict face-planted on one of the takes (lucky it was carpet and not a hardwood floor.) But I'm certain there is at least one take where he failed to grasp the...erm... situation.

Yup, this is some seriously coveted footage that they're keeping from us.

I loved the atmosphere in GERTI, like a sleep-over party. And, honestly, I'd prefer them to stop instead of just letting Martin go. I don't think it would be the same without him - not just because it's Benedict - but there is such a wonderful balance of characters, they complement each other so well. I don't know if it would work without him. And I also can't imagine them keeping Martin and just taking on another actor.

It was an awesome episode, their chemistry is so obvious and right. We almost know what they're going to say and how they fight, like old friends. So, I agree that it wouldn't work if they just let Martin go and brought in somone else. It's not just Benedict, it's that particular group of people. You can't just recreate that kind of magic with someone else. I was kind of sad lisetening too, wondering if they really were moving toward an end. I really hope not, but I'm also glad we had them for as long as we did. Better to have flown and lost, than never to have flown at all.

Had the wonderful experience of watching The Artist tonight. What a great film this is. The acting, cinematography, music, costumes are all fantastic. I can see why it won Oscars. Strongly written characters and driven by a simple but powerful story. I can thoroughly recommend watching this film if you haven't yet done so.

I loved this movie too. It was so brilliant in every way. So much heart and soul and talent, the wonderful kind of movie we used to make. Nothing blew up and no aliens attacked, but it touched my heart without a word. It deserved every award it won.

I love Matt Smith!

I completely and totally agree! I'm a newbie whovian here, just finished series 5 and 6 and waiting for the first half of 7 from the library. It was really seeing Matt around so much, in interviews and pics and such that prompted me to watch the show. I'm a big BBC nut and watch almost all their shows, but for some reason had always been a bit reluctant about Doctor Who. But, I'm okay with that, because it's always a thrill to discover an awesome new show, however late you come to the table.

And, it really is Matt that makes this show live and breath for me. He's got such a wonderful and unique personality for his doctor, his humor, strength and vulnerability are amazing and he really connects me to the doctor's whole world. And, I've grown very fond of that world.   I even love not really understanding certain things and learning as I go, as I don't have all the backstory knowledge long-time viewers do.

I haven't seen the Ponds go yet, but I know it's coming and I'm really sad about. I'm just trying to have faith that Steven will bring on a new companion with just as much heart and spark as Amy. I've even heard rumors that Matt is considering leaving soon as well and that thought is just heartbreaking. Having just discovered this new treasure, I was looking forward to enjoyng it awhile longer.

And, of course I love the Tardis and must own it in some shape or form. I was thinking maybe a cookie jar. The Tardis and cookies seems like a nice combination to me.

p.s. I want to give much love and kudos to whoever cast Alex Kingston as River Song. It's so nice and refreshing to see a lovely, older talented woman playing the love interest of a handsome, talented young man. Typcially she'd be a skinny little

As for the clothing - well. I suppose it's from the very nice photo in this month's Vanity Fair Hollywood issue. White shirt, waistcoat, black jacket, tie - and his own tee underneath. He looks a bit undone, though.

I love that sexy slightly disheveled look.

Could be people know him so well for his dramatic work that they don't send him many comedy scripts or many good ones. Maybe he needs to do something comedic to show that he can, casting folks don't have much imagination. This project does sound interesting, but it would be nice to see him in a lighter romantic comedy type film. Just for a change of pace, if nothing else. Still good to know there's potentially more for us to look forward to.

These episodes where Martin gets a little relief are heartwarming. But are they winding up to end the series?

I like to think of them as a small evolution for Martin'cs character. He's still a bit of a bumbler, but he has moments of success. I sure hope it's a continuation and not an end.

I don't really know much about the film or what approach it is going to take in telling the story. If it's soley based on Domscheit-Berg's book or not, I have no idea. This is a polarizing subject as is the man behind it, so hopefully the people making the film will take as unbiased and accurate a stand as any Hollywood film can in telling this tale. I'm tempted to read the book now, even though it's gotten very poor reviews.

That's so sweet, you were so concerned. And, a great funny story from your childhood.

I think when you're a person like this, you sadly have to roll with the punches. I'm sure Mark Zuckerberg hated The Social Network, but when you do something so massive in the public domain, it opens you up to this kind of scrutiny.
