Orphan Black has been renewed for a 4th season for spring 2016. I'm curious to see where they will leave us off on this current one.

Hello and welcome, Laura!

I'm fairly new as well but I have been enjoying my time on the forum, hope you do the same

Sad day, followers. Fox just confirmed this will be the last season. I didn't expect it to last forever and I guess with Joe "gone" it makes sense, but it's been an entertaining show. Here's hoping for a good ending!

I just started "Novel" by lifeonmars the other night and it updated today. It's an AU where John is a struggling writer and Sherlock is a consulting editor. It's actually really interesting, I feel like I haven't read anything quite like it. So far it's not slash and only has a teen rating, but it does have Sherlock/John listed as a relationship and it's only 4 chapters so far so who knows where it may go.

It seems like a lot of you guys on here are writers yourselves so I thought this might be a good one to pass along.

Also just generally curious, how often do you guys search for new fics? I'm honestly on AO3 a couple times a day trying to get my fix. If there was a rehab for Johnlock fan fic I'm 150% sure my husband would have sent me off a long time ago.

Unfortunately, I have no recs either, sorry, myrinda. Anyone else? After all, this was a request for recs.

I've seen that on tumblr a couple times, always makes me laugh

So I don't know about you guys but when I first started reading fan fic I steered far away from omega verse. I thought it was just too weird. Well, eventually my resolve cracked, curiosity got the better of me and I ended up reading "Seven Moons" by ladyflowdi which I enjoyed a lot. That was awhile back so I'm glad I gave it a go because it definitely opened me up to reading some other great works.

I'd have to say my favorite so far is starrysummernights The Illusion of Control series which goes from John growing up omega, to meeting Sherlock, eventually bonding with him, and unintentionally getting pregnant and everything in between with a healthy dose of angst. And I believe the latest bit she's doing in the series is going to be Mystrade for those who are interested in that pairing.

I would love some recs if anyone has any.

I definitely had to go in my mind palace for these (which is probably more like a run down shack) and it's been awhile since I've read any of these but from what I can remember these should fall into that description you provided.

Granted they all vary from where they start off ( i.e.  season 1, 2, or 3)

Sorry I'm not providing links, I'm on my iPhone and that would take more patience than I could ever hope to have.

My most recent fan fic subscription is for scullyseviltwin's "It Figures", it's just getting started, only 3 chapters up so far. It's supposed to be a "You've Got Mail" AU. So far I'm enjoying it!

I tried reading "There But For The Grace Of John Watson" since everyone seems to love it, but didn't get pass the first chapter. It just didn't grab me right away. Maybe I'll have to give it another go tonight. I know sometimes if you stick with a fic it'll grow on ya.

It looks like Ryan is going a little crazy to be honest. I really hope that he's going to turn into some kind of crazed killer with dead Joe teaching him and urging him on.

That's exactly what my husband said to me yesterday. I'd love that kind of ending, but at the same time I'd be surprised if a show that aired around prime time on such a big network went down that road.

Then again I was pretty shocked (in a pleasant way) about the dialogue they used between Joe and Ryan. And the show certainly doesn't seem to hold too much back when it comes to violence (even though I read that the writers were going to be cutting down on it this season... Haven't seen that happen yet)

Is it just me or is Joe & Ryan's dialogue together seriously shippy? xDD

It's like fan fic come to life.

Well with this show you never know! I saw a lot of fans speculating that the executioner could have been a follower and Joe is just a great actor.

In any case he definitely lives on in Ryan's mind. I haven't watched the latest episode so not sure what else developed.

I really enjoyed both seasons of this show, though it did bring me to tears a few times and left me feeling emotionally drained (though that's nothing new what with being a Sherlock fan).

It made sense for them to deal with Joe's case and I loved that they went back and gave closure to the one that brought Hardy to Broadchurch to begin with.

I know they confirmed a third season so I'm very curious to see what it will be about.

Oh yes, I do watch it! I think the idea is extremely original. I shoud have watched s03e01...but I didn't have time this week. Possibly tomorrow. I'll let you on to something. I didn't have any idea that all the girls were played by the same actress...(not very observant, am I?) so when I learnt that they were all the same person...it did make sense, but what came into my mind was mostly something along the lines of "Holy Christ, that girl is ...wow. "talented" doesn't even begin to cover it".
Have you got a favourite episode, then?

I don't think I could pick just one episode, they're all so good and seem to bring something new to the story. I do enjoy episodes that center around or have a strong focus on Allison, she's my favorite character and I feel like she brings a lot of much needed comic relief at times.

What about you?

I don't know if you have come across this, but sometimes I come across just a sentence or two in a fic that is so amazingly good, so incredibly well written that it manages to sum up a whole character or theme.

This was a sentence that stood out to me first time I read it:

"John seems to struggle with himself for a bit. Sherlock wonders if John Watson has ever been in a state of not-struggling with himself."

It blew my mind a bit, it just summed up a lot about John so effeciently and so well.

What fic is this from??

Wow! I'm so surprised this one didn't already have a topic I went through all the pages a couple times just to make sure.

Anyone else watch it? I just started not too long ago, but I'm all caught up.

I highly recommend it. I'm not a super sci-fi kinda person, but I still really enjoy. And the main actress is pretty crazy talented. Half the time I forget it's her playing most of the characters!

I am a huge fan of this show too! I'm all caught up except for the most recent episode that just aired Monday. I loved season 1 and 2. At first I was a bit underwhelmed by the start of the 3rd season since Joe wasn't in very much of it and I think the best part of the series is the relationship between him and Ryan (very twisted). It feels like it's finally starting to pick up now with Theo becoming the main bad guy and Joe making more appearances.

I personally buy just about anything BBC Sherlock related I can find. I think at this point I have about 17 shirts and a hoodie clothing wise, 4 posters in my bedroom (much to my husband's dismay), and various other products.

I work at a Hot Topic store and recently they finally acquired rights to sell official BBC Sherlock merchandise so of course I buy everything that comes through. We have lots of buttons, lanyards, shirts, tumblers, pint glasses, shirts, journals, so on and so forth. No mugs yet, I would love to see one of those.

I too would love to see a Sherlock bed set of some sort.

I could have sworn I read somewhere that they would be doing some of those blind box mini figurines in September too. Very excited for those if it turns out to be true.

Yes, they are definitely planning to take it to America (mentioned on their website, in the FAQ)

And with my luck it will be in California on the other side of the freaking country!  *pout*  So even going on the cheap tickets would still involve plane fare.

And here I am hoping it WILL be in California, though I'm sure if it were they'd choose something down south which is quite a drive from where I am.

I knew they had said they'd be doing one here (the U.S.) just wasn't sure if maybe there had been mention of a date or location yet.

I just hope they give more of a heads up, it seemed to me like they didn't release the official date for the convention until pretty close to when it was and I would definitely need time to save up.

Wow! This convention looks like it was amazing! I really hope they still plan on bringing one over to the U.S. as well. Has there been anymore talk of that from the organizers?
