Costume » Does anybody have a coat like Sherlock's? » October 26, 2014 12:34 pm

I have the CosplaySky replica, and I couldn't be happier about it, it's really accurate and very comfy as an actual Winter coat (and of course, being a crazy Sherlockian, it IS my main Winter coat xD)

Gorgeous coats, and great pics, Sherlock Holmes, biscuitbear and SH182 (and wow, you really look like Sherlock!) !

@OnlyinWestwood  Oh, me too :D! It's a pity there are so few Sherlockians and Whovians in my area!

@stoertebeker  Always happy to enable xD!  About the work, I guess I'll have to test it as well, and see what happens if I wear it when going to work on the doctorate :D

Just updating to say that the wallpaper dress I got is amazing! Apart from just the sheer awesomeness of wearing a piece of clothing with a Sherlock's wallpaper + smiley print, it's really well made and fits like a glove (I shortened the hem of the skirt because I prefer mid-thigh or above the knee dresses rather than calf-length).

Sherlockian Merchandise » I just came back from my local comic-con… » September 14, 2014 2:00 pm

Sherlock in not that popular here in Spain, so the only thing I've found (to date) in comic/manga/cosplay conventions is some badges and magnets.

The thing is, I was surprised at seeing that Sherlock isn't all that popular in London either, at least going for the lack of merchandising...Maybe British comic and fan events would be another thing.

@maryagrawatson  Will do ! Although hardly anyone seems to recognize my Sherlock coat replica, which I do wear as a normal Winter coat xD

@Bronte89  You're welcome!
I suspect the leggings will be next

@Whisky  I haven't found any wallpapers suits out there, just short dresses, t-shirts and leggings, but that'd be a cool idea, for both men and women !

@La Jolie  You're welcome! I really love their Sherlock stuff. I got a small messenger bag back in June, and I love it
  Thank you ^^!

Spiders, lizards and most bugs disgust me, but I wouldn't put those in a phobia scale, unless we were talking about large spiders and dangerous snakes (then the disgust would very likely escalate xD).

-Wasps, on the other hand, are a phobia of mine. Probably because I got stung by a few when I was a child...
-Dangerous dogs. Not a fan of dogs generally, but the dangerous ones do scare me a lot.
-Trypanophobia (needles).
-Religious fanatics and mob mentality. Being in an area of extreme misoginy (think Near East level).
-Also quite a bit of a hyponchondriac, me. And I'm afraid of bad things happening to my loved ones.
-Psychological terror is the form of horror that most gets to me.

I've just finished my Astrophysics final master project today (still got to do the presentation, but the project is finished and sent, phew), so I thought I'd give myself a treat after three exhausting months writing and working on graphs and datatables non-stop (and the rest of the academic year also working, but not quite so non-stop).
So I got myself a Sherlockian wallpaper short dress ! It looks really cool, and I've been wanting one for ages:

This Etsy shop has quite a lot of Sherlockian stuff, I really like it

Hi, fellow Sherlockian flutist *waves*! Yes, the flute is an evil instrument indeed
Very nice cover ! I'm playing Irene's theme on the piano right now, as part of a Sherlock medley, but I must give it a go with the flute as well

Costume » Mrs. Hudson in purple? Why? » August 31, 2014 10:25 pm

Cool study, Susi!
I've also come to associate purple with Sherlock, above any other colour (also black, and navy and blue in general, mainly because of the scarf). Since becoming a dedicated Sherlockian, I've noticed that I actively try to wear and have more purple stuff

Costume » Sherlock cosplayers! » August 31, 2014 10:14 pm

What about cosplay conventions, ComicCon style, or random geeky events (like geeky groups, premières, etc)? I do wear my Sherlock coat in public because it's a 21st Century cosplay after all and it doesn't clash much, but I can't cosplay anywhere else either (as much as I'd wish to go out in long medieval dresses and leather jerkins, life is so unfair xD).  The work aspect is of course totally understandable, but there are still a handful of situations when you could cosplay if you so wished

Also, it's not my intention to meddle in any private affairs, and I mean no offense, but in my respectful opinion I find it rather unfair that you would feel the need to stop from doing something you like just because your husband doesn't like it/wouldn't uderstand it. It's your life! You're entitled to like and do something he doesn't. It's all about what makes us happy, I think, as long as we don't hurt anyone, and cosplaying has never hurt anyone, that I know of  Not trying to enable, just saying that there shouldn't be a time when you can 'no longer do something' just because you're in a relationship/have a family/...My mum and I cosplay together, and my dad is not into cosplaying, and actually finds it 'weird' and 'a waste of time and money'. But it's his opinion, not ours, and he doesn't actively try to make us stop, nor is he entitled to. Just my two feminist cents

I love quoting Sherlock as well! Especially when I'm bashing Internet trolls, muahaha xD

Series Four Suggestions & Ideas » Who would you like to play Harriet? » August 31, 2014 5:21 pm

Catherine Tate would be pretty cool!
Also, I saw this on Pinterest once, and now I want it. River Song as Harry Watson? Bring it on

I celebrate a neodruidic-inspired Samhain rather than dressing-in-costume-Halloween, but I am planning an Elsa cosplay for a geeky event in December, if that also counts

Meet The Members » What do you do when you are frustrated? » August 31, 2014 4:58 pm

Forgot to say that I find shooting arrows pretty good to release my frustration as well. Sherlock was definitely on to something there, I agree xD Too bad it isn't a handy solution.
