Poor babha! We should have a wake for him, with buckets of booze and a non-stop Moriarty video tribute.
Shame we don't know what he drank, but we could make mourning by Westwood de rigueur.

Whatever he drank, it was smooth. And sexy. Like...Irish whiskey. Or a single malt Scotch. (Both considered sexy in the States. Don't know about everywhere else.)

Definitely not a beer guy.

Maybe you've seen my new Kindle sleeve, I posted a photo elsewhere on the forum. It's made from felt and has the IOU apple glued to one side and Sherlock's silhouette with the smiley stitched to the other. Not my own handiwork, but I love to carry it around with me.

OOoohhh I want that for my Nook Color!

These are all great finds. So far, I only have a t-shirt which reads, "Honey, you should see me in a crown." I love it though; the design is great and it isn't big and boxy. It's from Redbubble which has lots of Sherlock prints!

Idk about saturnR but I did. I can get mine to work if I change it to AST, but I live in EST.

I think saturn's issue is that it won't stay changed to the correct time zone.

Whatever though; I'm sure no one pays much attention to the time that I post. And mine is only off by an hour.

Yes. Not the end of the world by any means, I'm just lamenting the fact that I am a total klutz. Really. My patients laugh at me because I run into things all the time. It's a wonder that they trust me.

I listed my time zone as Eastern Standard, but there is no accounting for Daylight Savings so my time is (currently) an hour off. I suspect that it will change in October when we turn the clocks back. Although my time on here is already an hour behind, so I don't know.

Voting for sure. I voted for Obama in '08, but being mainly Libertarian/Independent this is the first time I will vote a straight Democratic ticket because I can't imagine a world where the Romney's get to live in the White House. I have some very strong language coming to mind, so I'll just leave it at that.

Alright. So, I never have pretty, girly hands because a) I wash them all the time at work and b) a manicure might last through a shift and a half at the hospital. But I have the night off and thought I'd make my nails pretty, even if it won't last.

I was using nail polish remover when my friend texted, so I set the (open) bottle down to reply. After replying, I set the phone down next to the bottle. Then, true to form, I smack the bottle (because I seem to have no peripheral perception and run into stuff that's next to me all the time) and it proceeds to dump all over the face of my Droid X. Which has a crack in it. Perfect.

So there is nail polish remover seeping into the screen. It's already melted the coating off of part of the back of the phone. *sigh* Well...I guess now I don't need an excuse to purchase the new iPhone 5 like I thought I would. Now I actually need it! (Not really sure what I'll do for a phone in the meantime though.)

P.S. My nails do look cute, I have to say.

HA...I've had a lot of trainees this summer who are in their very early 20's. I was speaking to one about the new 21 Jump Street movie, and how I didn't want to see it because I liked the original TV show too much. She looked at me like I'd grown another head on my shoulders and said (disdainfully), "Um, it wasn't a show. It's a movie." Au contraire, mon petit chou!

She didn't believe me until I finally Googled it. *sigh*

Shame on PBS! Really though, I liked Moriarty (and the man playing him) well enough already, but someone sent me that video and I think I may have watched it 5 times in a row. The look he gives her before he says, "Thanks." Mmm-hmmm. You are welcome, sir.

Alright, that's enough of me acting like a 16 year old. (No offense to 16 year olds, but I'm somewhere in the neighborhood of twice that so...yeah.)

To be honest John hardly holds his wrist at all before his hand is pulled away so he doesn't have time to take a pulse properly anyway.

Good point. To be honest, the first time I saw it taking a pulse did not occur to me; I thought he was simply reaching for his friend, to help or comfort.

OH! Yes. The pulse. Someone mentioned that he could have put the ball in his armpit area to occlude his radial pulse. This is true, but an absent radial pulse isn't too difficult to fake. If you occlude the brachial artery (like if you have a blood pressure cuff on and inflated), then no more radial pulse. I'm not sure if this theory is plausible since no one will let me test it on them but I think that one of the many people near the body simply had to press down on the inside of his upper arm; John wouldn't have been in a place to see it at all.

I believe the solution will be fairly simple, but it won't be that he just jumped and hoped he might survive.

I have to agree. I've had patients catastrophically injured from falling off a two-story balcony. While you could survive just about any fall--I once read the story of a woman who survived her parachute not opening (until just before she hit ground)--chances are that you wouldn't, or that you'd have a head and/or spinal cord injury, not to mention some pretty serious internal injuries.

It's too big a risk, and Sherlock isn't risky; he's calculated.

That is true however I suspect a majority of viewers are not au fait with the canon. How will they feel if this is proved to be the case?

I'm not, though I just started in on it a few days ago. Love it so far, of course.

I (obviously) loved this Moriarty, and I adore Andrew Scott. As much as I like him and want to see more Moriarty, I think it would detract from the show. I don't believe he's coming back.

Agreed. I mean, he could have been a ghost if someone less cool and less imaginative were writing this series. But with those two? Nope. No way.
