Come on, manipulating a hockey tournament is easy. But how did you make Mary and me want to go to Cologne at exactly the right day? Not bad, Susi, not bad!

It would be lovely if you could join us!

My smartphone and me are currently fighting each other for control. Not sure who will win...

Thank you, Matti, I'll get to it right away!

I finally made it out of the Midlle Ages. I'm proud owner of a (used but still lovely) iphone and can't wait to get my sim-card plus contract today.

So, dear other smartphone owners, how do I Sherlock my iphone?

Mary and I would like to see STID non-dubbed. Our plan is to meet in Cologne, spend the afternoon together and then go to see the film.

Who will join us?

Preferred date is Saturday,  May 18th.

My husband found this (German) article yesterday. It basically says (with many complicated sentences) that the film ships Kirk and Spock.

http://www.faz.net/aktuell/feuilleton/kino/video-filmkritiken/video-filmkritik-fernreisende-mit-sternbeziehung-12174664.html

Went to see it again (purely for research of course) and must say: Yes, you CAN see Kirk as being in love with Spock. You don't have to, not at all, but if you ship them (which I don't) this film surely makes you happy.
Of course you have to bend your mind around the fact that Kirk was in bed with two feline girls at a time, but hey, some of us manage to bend their minds around Sarah and Jeanette as well...

Now, my plan is to read:
1. John Watson's Twelve Days of Christmas (to experience romance overdose firsthand)
2. The Blog of Eugenia Watson (to see if I can overcome my prejudice against paternal fics)

Good thing I will finish my current reading matter today. :-)

Susi, please tell me my new fic is not heading towards romance overdose.
No, forget what I've just written. Warn me definiety if it is!

Schmiezi, it tends to the romantic side but there's no overdose. Not for me. Not housewifery, etc.

Phew! Relieved to hear that!

AG, I think I know what you mean. Most of the time I only read fics that are recommended here, so most of them are exactly what I like to read.
But I can't stand Johnlock fics that includes one of them or both being a parent. I never figured out why, but I think it's because these fics tend to make one of  them "wifey" and turns them into women, sort of.

Sorry, forgot this one: Kirk, Spock, Scotty, Uhura and Benedict (of course, what he be without that?) are all welling up some time or other. But then ST has always been about feelings and (not only) about action in space.

Actually (after, *cough* watching it again tonight) Pike also cries (when he dies), and I'm sure that Bones has tears in his eyes just before seeiing the reanimated tribble. Carol Marcus also cried, it was when she was beamed off the Enterprise.

Actually, the only important ones who've never cried where Chekov and Sulu.

Rightfully so.

Do you go with someone who loves trek or Sherlock?

I slept on it and still think that it is a great Trek movie. Without spoiling I can say that it contained many scenes and ideas for the fans.
Benedict's performance was extraordinary, but so was Karl Urban's, for example, or Simon Pegg's.
At the moment I like it better than the one before.
