Re: Star Trek

Thank you, KeepersPrice, for posting the Audi commercial.  I'd read about it but hadn't seen it until you made the clip available here.  It's a very clever ad, imho.

And thank you, m0r1arty, for posting the interview with Ben.  It was lovely.

Re: Star Trek

Just came home after seeing it and I totally love it.

Great performance (of course!!), but also good script, nice twists for fans, space looks beautiful. YAY!
Let's see what I'll think after re-watching it on Saturday.

Re: Star Trek

It was great! How can this man even get any hotter? He is breathtaking but he needs more screentime.

My thoughts exactly. Seeing him on the big screen was just WOW! I think in one scene I forgot to listen to the dialogue and just stared.

The first scene with him and I thought "He is getting better and better. How can somebody be so...indescribable."

Space? What space?

I'm still feeling quite warm. What about you?

Re: Star Trek

I slept on it and still think that it is a great Trek movie. Without spoiling I can say that it contained many scenes and ideas for the fans.
Benedict's performance was extraordinary, but so was Karl Urban's, for example, or Simon Pegg's.
At the moment I like it better than the one before.

He’s got a dog. We go to the pub on weekends. I’ve met his mum and dad …

… and his friends and all his family and I’ve no idea why I’m telling you this.

Rightfully so.

Do you go with someone who loves trek or Sherlock?

Re: Star Trek

No, this time I'm going alone. It would be more fun together with other people of course, but I couldn't find anybody in time who would watch it with me. No Sherlock or Cumberbatch fans here, and no Trekkies (that I know of) either.

Re: Star Trek

I also watched the movie yesterday. Benedict was a brilliant villain, so gorgeous and good-looking ! His character was a much more profound typ of bad guy than in some other Star Trek movies.

About the movie itself I have difficulties to make up my mind. After the first 15 minutes of the movie my boyfriend whispers to me "I hope this will getting better soon.". Well, after we left the cinema I had to listen to his nagging how bad the movie was for nearly an hour - that spoiled my movie experience a bit .

So I think, I will watch the movie a second time to enjoy it - alone, without disturbances .

Re: Star Trek

Sure signs that I must indeed have loved the film were the facts that I felt incredibly warm throughout it and that I left the cinema with a half-empty popcorn bag. (Usually popcorn survives with me hardly the first 30 minutes of a film.) During certain close-ups I felt myself being pressed into my seat back. I think I love 3D...
I found the film quite enjoyable and the time just flew by though I've never been a Trekkie. Of course, I will watch it again. Just can't tell whether today, tomorrow or Saturday...

Mrs Hudson: "They don’t matter. You do."
