Thank you so much !!

@La Jolie I got the thicker one in Zara, and the other one at another local shop which was unfortunately closed. I also find it pretty hard finding one that looks Sherlock-accuratelocally, but I think they sell some replicas in certain cosplay stores (like cosplaysky, if I remember correctly. Or maybe Amazon or Ebay).
Btw, I firmly believe that cosplay is for everyone, disregardless or sex, race and body type, so definitely give Sherlock a go if you ever feel like it in the future ! Don't let things such as body type hold you off! For example, I love Captain America, and I'm definitely cosplaying him even if my ohysique doesn't fit at all xD. Or Ten, even if I don't look anywhere near David Tennant

That sounds amazing ^^

I've noticed that there isn't a category dedicated to cosplay, and especifically a thread about members who cosplay Sherlock, so I thought about starting one. *mods, feel free to move this if it belongs elsewhere*

So do you, have you, or would you want to cosplay Sherlock? Genderbent or crossplay, show me your cosplay pics!

I've been cosplaying Sherlock for nearly a year, and I love it. Sherlock is the character I identify the most with (minus the deductions and the Mind Palace, and most of the tactless behaviour xD), and we happen to have a similar style as well, so that'd explain why I feel so comfortable when cosplaying him - I love his kind of suits, wear a lot of black and purple, and since adquiring a coat replica last December (the CosplaySky one), I've made it my day-to-day Winter coat (and walking in the city has never been so cool :D).
I usually go for a more femlock approach, given that I've not tried cosplaying Sherlock with a wig yet, and my hair is pretty long (I normally keep it bunned or half-up, half-down). But I'd like to attempt crossplay as well. Also, I'd like to get some colour-contacts for a future shoot.
I publish my cosplay shots on DeviantArt  (we did a London locations shoot earlier this month, but haven't uploaded those yet).

And here is a pic overload, I'm afraid. Sorry for the huge pics, it's DeviantArt's fault xD. Please feel free to post lots of pic overloads of your own!

I bought mine at CosplaySky. It's reasonably priced, and really very accurate and comfy  (I wear it as my day-to-day Winter coat, actually. Winter had never been so cool :D) and overall totally worth it, imo:  http://cosplaysky.com/sherlock-holmes-cape-coat-cosplay-costume-wool-version.html .

I agree, Vikings is great in that respect  I hope to do broadsword swordfighting in the near future as well, when I have more spare time

It's a really interesting topic, it's surprising (or not, seeing that most societies are patriarchal) to see how many historical warrior-women have been erased from history books and popular culture.

I do ancient Spanish rapier sword-fighting, Alatriste style Really cool

I don't want Sherlock and Moriarty to team up.  I think that it would diminish Moriarty's character to give him any redemable arc at all.  Leave him the mad sociopath that we know and love.

I also don't want him to really still be alive.  A twin brother, a second in command out for revenge, I don't care.  But if Moriarty didn't kill himself on that rooftop it invalidates the emotional journy we took to get there.

I see the point of the first one. While it would be cool if they had to team up (and then go back to being enemies, perhaps?), it could seriously undermine the character, and I don't think Moriarty is one for such alliances, anyway. I personally would prefer him to stay the mad nemesis, yes. Maybe for a fanfic?

I really don't mind him about him being alive, but if they keep faking deaths, the show is going to suffer some credibility problems  Please leave Magnussen dead!

Moriarty being the villain that Sherlock has to work against. (Now the exact opposite I could see - why not throw them together having to cooperate for some higher purpose? That might be fun.)

Can I just say - although this is the thread about what we don't want to happen - that I really like that idea. Sherlock and Jim have to work together for some reason - maybe against Mary?

Well, Mary is of course not evil (There! I've said it! ) but never mind me. I just liked the idea of two characters who have had a very strongly defined, unambiguous relationship so far being thrown together in a new way that questions their previous relationship. That's the only way I can see any revived Sherlock/Jim dynamics offering anything new and interesting.

But then, Jim being a complete and utter psychopath, totally irrational and not even subject to the fundamental human instinct of self-preservation, he's probably not the right candidate for the sort of development I was envisaging. With most villains it would be interesting to see them being made to revise their goals and methods and alliances, but it's only really interesting with those that act the way they do because of their convictions. It's not interesting with those that act the way they do simply because of a severe biochemical mess-up in their brains. Someone like Jim would be physically unable to see things differently and revise their former actions accordingly...

Which all adds up, again, to "No more psychopaths, please!"

But never mind Moriarty, either. Of course he isn't back. His supposed return was just some colossal scheme of Mycroft's to get his little brother out of the crap at the last moment.

Sherlock and Moriarty having to team up against a common enemy does sound cool! I would watch that! Bit similar as T

Mary turning into a 'passive housewife' while John goes off with Sherlock on cases, if they do end up having the baby. Sounds like a horrribly traditional stereotype.

I definitely don't like traditional stereotypes either, and I'm all for a modern (meaning equal) assignment of roles and responsibilities in marriages and families, both in real life and on screen. But seriously: Having a baby ties you down completely (unless you're a totally irresponsible parent, which neither Mary nor John would be, IMO). At least it ties down one parent at  a time. So how can Mary NOT sit at home and be a passive housewife while John goes off on another adventure with Sherlock? Who else is going to look after the baby? Or will Mary and John split their adventure time equally from now on, arguing about whose turn it is to go with Sherlock when he turns up with an interesting case?

It wouldn't work. Everybody WANTS John (and not Mary!) to go on adventures with Sherlock, but how is it going to work, with the baby, unless Mary does turn  "passive housewife"?

In most discussions about Mary's (and John's)  future role in the series, people seem to overlook just what you can do and what you can't do when you have a baby. I hope the writers either take the baby out of the equation very quickly (cruel though that would be) or at least present the situation realistically...

Sorry. I'm not having a go at you, Arwiendel, I'm just pointing out a big dilemma that the writers have written themselves into by the end of S3.

Expressing your own views is never having a go at anyone unless you try to convince someone (which you weren't) or are rude (which you weren't)

You know, I agree, this show is about Sherlock and John before anything else. That's why I worry about the baby idea.
Given that it's a Sherlock AND John show, the most probable thing, if they do end up having the

Drunklock was so perfectly performed. Often it's been played quite badly, but Benedict and Martin did a very great job and I loved it.

Hubby wants less sentiment and more cases.
I don't care much, I only want S4. And S5. And S6. And so on.

It's true that the performance was really good, the scene has actually grown on me with time, even though I don't like scenes where people get drunk (because I think that getting drunk, especially getting drunk to conform, is totally stupid).

I want both sentiment and cases

Overall, I too want to join the 'I just want S4' club

And don't make Mary 'evil', please. It was enough that you had her shoot Sherlock.

Of course, some people might consider that a bit evil already ... Just saying.

Touchée ! I meant 'evil' as in siding with Moriarty or something, as in actually going against Sherlock and John in earnest. Sorry for not expressing myself correctly.
I do have mized feelings about her and the shooting, still think she could have found a solution that involved not shooting Sherlock (like confiding in him and letting him help her get away before John saw her?!). However, I still rather like her, so I'll give her a second chance. I still would have liked to see a bit more remorse about shooting her partner's best friend, though...I don't want them to keep writing her like this, that was I meant with her not turning 'evil' in S4. I DON'T want the stereotype of 'powerful woman is evil woman' here as well. We've had Irene, then Janine, now we have Mary. Who's going to be next, Molly for becoming more confident? Mrs Hudson for having a dodgy past in a drugs cartel? Mummy Holmes for writing combustion science books?? :/

To tell the truth, although I did have my prejudices when I first watched series 3, now I like practically everything, so there aren't that many things I don't want to see.

  I don't mind about:
-The return of Moriarty (as long as they don't make things repetitive, I don't want a repeat of series 2)
-The appearance of Sherrinford. As long as he's Tom Hiddleston , and it's more of a secondary-cameo character than anything else. Perhaps only in one episode, that would be cool.
-Baby Watson: Not sure how things will evolve with a baby, and it's seems that it's going to happen, but I wouldn't mind about a scene featuring Sherlock babysitting, as long as it involves him teaching her how to say ''murder" xD. I wouldn't like a sugary, domestic environment with lots of baby scenes, though. Please don't. Ugh.
-Mary (as long as she's not a 'villain'). I think she interacts really well with Sherlock and John and wouldn't hinder case plots like we had in series 1 and 2 (she might even take a more active role in them, now she's a badass assassin, which I would actually love).
-Molly not moving on. Now she's confident, badass Molly, I would even approve of Sherlolly on screen (shipper off screen), but I think a fandom ship (taken seriously) would look pretty awkward on screen and it's not fair to choose one, make it canon and ignore the others. So probably not gonna happen, and it's probably for the best. I way prefer Sherlolly friendship, though, I loved it in series 3.
Also, I prefer a non-relationships Sherlock above any ship, at least on-screen. Shows that not anyone needs a romantic relationship, and that not all characters should conform to that pattern. Sherlock works best with his friend John, his brilliance and his cases (and his other friends). Not with domestic environments or romance.

But I really wouldn't like -

1) Any Adlock. If Irene turns up again, please just make her an ally of Sherlock, nothing more. Same with Janine. Didn't like her, wou

Another fan of the Avengers universe here  I've never really liked the Marval comics, mainly because they tend to portray women in a really objectifying, unrealistic way (and I'm very particular about warrior-women and superheroines being portrayed in a sexualized and/or unrealistic way), but the cinematic universe has really improved that aspect.

My fave characters are Black Widow, Captain America and Loki (I'm definitely Loki'd xD). Also Coulson, he's a cutie . I liked the Avengers movie, but my fave movies are Dark World and Winter Soldier. Love Loki and Cap's character development in these, plus all the bromance feels and the awesome Black Widow and Frigga.

Saw Martin Freeman at the stage door after watching him in Richard III on the 29th July *squeeee*. My mum and I got an autograph and a very brief conversation. He's really nice!

Looking forward to seeing Benedict playing Hamlet next year (still so excited I managed to get tickets!!), and I'd also like to be able to experience setlock someday
