Great work, everyone! I love drawing and painting, although I can rarely find time for it. I took oil painting classes during high school, but I considermyself an amateur, with lots to learn yet.
I'm uploading my past and present work to DeviantArt (I have more photography deviations than drawings for now, though):
I do more sketches and doodles than actual drawings or paintings, partly because I'm such a perfectionistic a full-fledged drawing/painting takes forever, and partly because I haven't enough time for more serious projects (currrently struggling to finish a comission while working for my master's project, and there's another trade waitingas well). I favour Tolkien Elves, Celtic women, warrior-women, Sherlock and LOTR stuff, horses and landscapes.
A selection...(sorry for the huge pics, I still don't know how to make DevArt images smaller in forums...so here are the pics big as houses that the OP was talking about! :o)
-Barn owl (watercolour, inks)
A Celtic warrior-woman:
-Galadriel
-And Nazgûl (oils) ...and wow, these look ginormous...sorry again!
Waiting forward to see more of your art!
Will try to resize my pics, these look ridiculously big!

I found this one on New Years Eve... the dog was scared and wanted to hide in a cupboard (which I allowed him to so I had to empty it for all the stuff mum kept there...) amongst the stuff I found this. I must have been around 10 when I made it...
it's a porcelain tile... must be from my porcelain painting classes in school.

I got to see The Imitation Game today... and I've been shocked to the core.
My friend and I are usually not able to shut up around each other but the walk home was done in silence, tears dripping from our eyes.
I painted this tonight, after I came home. I know it's not good or anything (And Alan would probably be appalled that the colours touch and even mix. My OCD isn't happy either...)

I love that the colours mix, even my OCD likes it. It gives the painting more life, it feels more real thanks to that. I really like that painting Phantom!

I painted this the other day listening to 'Bittersweet' by Zac Brown Band... it hit me hard...
Usually when I paint I have an idea when I start but this time I let the brush work on it's own and I had no idea it was going to be a landscape (or a pair of loafers, according to my mum)
(sorry my home is such a mess!)
And I painted this for New Doctor Who's 10th anniversary...
The vortex and the windows are actually painted with glitter water colours so the light catches the sparkles.
I just relax so much when I paint!

Well, my mum's aunt has her 80th Birthday tomorrow... and I decided to paint her a card instead of buying one...
Well this is what I ended up with... and yeah... I suppose it could have been better
(and yes, that is my Instagram)

I am so glad you posted this, as it reminds me.
My cousin Marie( pronounced 'marry') is very arty and she always makes cards. She always puts on the back: by 'Mariarty', which I just think is the coolest thing ever!
