Seems like it would be more energy efficient than the stove top burner for hot tea.
I'll have to look into one.

When the lights are flashing on and off in Henry's yard, is that happening or hallucinations?

Ok, my vocab questions!
I eventually figured out "pants" is equivalent to underwear.
Put the kettle on seems to be slightly different from what I do when I make tea.
I turn on the stove, and puy the tea pot on to heat the water. Do they use an electric kettle? What is tgat?
Series Three Suggestions & Ideas » The evolution of Anderson.. » July 17, 2013 7:45 pm |
I rather think that when Sherlock is resurrected, there will be an inquiry into the behavior of both Sally and Anderson. Lestrad has already been put through the wringer after TRB no doubt.
When Sherlock is brought into the first car post TRF, I think both Sally and Anderson will avoid him as best as possible. Sally may try to apologize, Anderson can't, or won't.

Sherlock doesn't bother to eat or sleep while on a case.
I'm not at all certain how he does that without a brain numbing headache. I'm bad about eating enough, and I'll call an energy drink and a power bar breakfast and lunch. Sometimes, I may skip dinner as well.
Mind over master goes only so far.
And I've done the not eating for 2-3 says in a row. It messes up your GI track somethingsomething awful.

Yep. It's been remarked on - at least in other forums. I don't know if it was a concious decision on Johns part, (certainly it was on Martins part lol) but being a surrogate Sherlock, John adopted a particular characteristic.
General Sherlock Discussion » How often/how many times have you watched the episodes? » July 10, 2013 8:28 pm |
No way to count..When I had internet, I'd watch it on netflix, kinda over and over. I have Series 2 on disc, and my kids (who are totally Johnlocked) will ask for a different show/movie.
we'd be watching full metal alchemist if we still had internet - or something else of my choosing. (Unless I'm still asleep, then some banal cartoon will be on - except Sponge Bob. They know better than that.

I loved that one. I need to slow down on the reading however, they're beginning to blur together.
A Study In Pink » Addict » July 9, 2013 6:22 pm |
The fact that Lestrad knew Sherlock for 5 years, and knew to look in the flat for drugs indicates (to me) that Sherlock was known to have been a junkie - others have theorized that Lestrad is a bit of a father figure, and was at least in a small way involved in getting Sherlock clean.
Notice how careful Sherlock was to say that HE was clean. Lestrad knew to ask if the flat was.
Could be he used the drugs to either numb him to the overwhelming data that the real world throws at him all the time, or to help him pin point his focus on a mystery. Depends on which drug he chose.
(The bits in Hound were hilarious - saying he needed something 7% stronger (the dose of cocaine he used in cannon) and looking in the slipper for his cigarettes - where he stashed his cocaine in ACD.)

I'd be happy if in the 3 years while Sherlock is "dead", Molly and Greg get together.
(not an original thought - stole it from a fan fic by Ariane DeVere).

General Benedict Appreciation » A day with Benedict » June 30, 2013 11:20 pm |
I would absolutely adore being on set for a day - watching sets, lighting, blocking, different takes for different camera angles. Watching Martin and Ben turning into John and Sherlock.
Sure, I'd be a drooling fangirl the whole time, and too embarrased/shy to say a word, but lordy, I want to watch a day on set!
Series Three Suggestions & Ideas » How will John react when he finds out Sherlock isn't dead? » June 30, 2013 9:24 pm |
Knock on door
John opens door - sees Sherlock on the other side.
Slams door in his face.
Opens door and punches him, slams door again.
turns around and leans on door for a bit, opens door and lets him in.
