The continuity/set flubs are perhaps the most baffling, for me. We know Arwel is meticulous. There's always tons of little easter eggs and realistic details other shows rarely bother with hidden in every episode.

Then we get s4, with John writing on his jpeg blog about changing nappies of a baby that hadn't even been born yet.

The brown... no wait, blue... no, now it's grey... now it's bright neon glowing... pure black Skull portrait.

The Dynamics of Cumbustion --> "The Thyroid Gland"

John's house's magically teleporting front door. (This was a set. They built the house from scratch. How on earth does an error like this even happen?)

And so much else. Just... I still see EMP, as clear as day in all these problems. And it fits so well, I'm truly finding it difficult to believe they were all just unintended mistakes. It just doesn't make sense. Where did the clever Sherlock crew go? Were they all replaced by pod people?

This whole season was absolute, plot-holey trash. I did enjoy TLD but even that had sooooooo many mistakes and problems. I can't believe these are the same writers and the same crew, who did such spectacular work in previous seasons, suddenly forgetting their Writing 101 lessons such as "if the protag reads a letter but the audience doesn't see it, you must show it to them eventually" and "after establishing the rules of the story's universe (gunshot realism) don't contradict yourself 1 episode later (Mary)."

God, this is going to leave a horrible taste in my mouth. It almost retroactively reaches back and taints all the episodes that came before it.

Well, if Mary turns out to have worked for Moriarty, possibly as his "Sebastian" or right-hand-man/sniper, then we've long been theorizing that she's been in play since as far back as the Pool scene.

Totally agree with your other points there though, SusiGo.

The assassin targetting Lestrade was a male agent that we'd seen previously talking to Sally (whispering doubts in her ear) throughout TRF.

I'm a bit confused as well, and unsure how to reply, so I'll just add this small point.

Janine liked Sherlock as 'himself' at the wedding, before he pretended to be into her. She seemed to enjoy his company and appreciated his talents. He didn't have to put on a different face for her to want to "keep him" and end up wishing he wasn't "...whatever you are."

But yeah, not sure where you're getting the loony stuff from. Have you been reading Paradox?

My "called it" will be that TST will be John's nightmare-- literally. They've laid seeds throughout s3 for John being jealous of Mary's apparent closeness to Sherlock, as well as the new clip seeming to be a nightmare scenario of neither of them thinking John is any good or worth bringing along to a case, and being saddled (literally) with the baby.

At the end of the episode, the nightmare ends (John wakes up). Then we see that Sherlock is still in his coma from being shot. He wakes up at the beginning of TLD.

We're looking at Sherlock's reflection in the hallway mirror, as opposed to just looking at him directly. It seems an odd choice.

People are debating whether the joking between John and Lestrade in that scene is too mean-spirited.

I'm on the fence myself. On the one hand, I know plenty of people who joke amongst friends like that, it doesn't seem mean and Sherlock doesn't seem to mind it all that much.

On the other...

Actually, you know what? I can't really think of anything. I suppose I fall on that side of the fence, after all. I can't really see it as mean or out of character. But without further context, who knows.

What do you all think?

But I think we are moving off topic now. Let's go back to speculating. At the moment, I think the 125 years old spoiler is Mary's death.

The thing about this is, he says "a 125 year spoiler which has been building for an awfully long time."

Mary hasn't been in the show "an awfully long time", only the latest series. So I think this is a bit of a red herring and the spoiler is, as SusiGo pointed out on her tumblr, something to do with Reichenbach. Because in canon, Sherlock never actually jumped off the waterfall. That'd be quite a spoiler, if it also applied here!

I wonder what people imagine when they dread a Johnlock resolution. Like, do they think the show is suddenly going to become 90 minutes of John and Sherlock making out and having sex? Do they think the writers are suddenly going to change their characters into touchy-feely sex fiends onscreen? Is that what people are seriously afraid will happen?

The temptation there is to say "not that that would be a bad thing..." but realistically, we all know that's a ridiculous thing to fear, because no matter where they're taking this, they're not going to suddenly turn the show into a porno. Literally nothing will change, except there being an open declaration of the love that's already visible to the naked eye onscreen.

I honestly don't see how it could "ruin the entire show" considering how the entire show, so far, has been exactly about John and Sherlock's relationship with each other.

Christmas Kiss and Guess
Teens & Up, 8k words
Greg proposes an unusual drinking game. Sherlock is eager to prove he can win, but John is certain this is one thing he can do better than his brilliant flatmate. They can't both win. At least, not in the way either of them expect to.

It should be on BBCi Player, I think there's a Chrome plugin called Beeb that lets you watch programs from the US if you want.

The docu was great! Mainly focused on the production of Splinter, but they also went into his career highs and lows. I felt that was the weakest part and could have been explained better, as it jumped around a lot. But the candid stuff with him, Gemma and the kids interacting in day-to-day life was very sweet and funny. Gary's genuine goofy personality really came through strongly, it was very endearing.

All in all, I wouldn't have seen this in the cinema, but I enjoyed watching it with Mum. She knew very little about him and doesn't know his music, but she enjoyed it too!

About the grey- I swear I remember an interview somewhere where the hair lady (I forget her name, sorry! is it Claire maybe?) was saying she hid bits of grey in the new wig to show he's aging. I'm about 98% certain there's a quote somewhere but I have no idea where to find it.

Since this has kind of become a general Gary Numan thread, I thought it worth mentioning that the new documentary Android in La La Land is starting in 15 mins (11pm) on BBC4. It's apparently really good! I'll be off to watch it after I post this. ^_^

It's a W. Apparently this is what old HSE badges used to look like (I originally assumed it was an NHS card). If so, it's likely an area code where she was originally certified- "IOW" is the area code for the Isle of Wight. But really I just think the props department used a random ID card as a basis for the prop. I find it exceedingly unlikely that Molly could work around the hospital with a glaring mistake printed - for no practical reason whatsoever - on her ID badge.

It would be odd if they only did it in the US. Then again, the partnership is quite specific. But maybe there are other partnerships in the works that simply aren't mentioned (because they wouldn't be on this company's site).

Steam is a distribution platform for many hundreds of thousands of games on the PC, but that is hilarious that the first thing you saw when searching it was Genital Jousting, LOL!
