So happy you like it, ewige. For me it is one of the best Johnlock fics ever, together with classics like "All the best and brightest creatures".
Great idea of translating - as for the Russian words: you could italicise them so make clear that they are Russian in the original as well.

The author uses italics a lot for POV changes in the Floating World so I might need to do something else.
I do love translating fanfiction and have a decent readership, just not in this fandom (here, everything I read has apparently been translated well before I clap my eyes on it, lol)
"All the best and brightest creatures" is next on my reading list

I want to recommend this little story:
For science? by Carriefx
An innocent conversation with Sherlock takes an unexpected turn, and before he knows it John has been persuaded that he should further explore his sexuality. A six-step “experiment” is in order. And Sherlock’s plans don't end there…
I really like this little story. To me, it feels very real and believable. I can imagine that if Sherlock and John ever had sex, this is how their first time might be. I love their voices and how she has written them.

Those last two recs were great fun, thanks for posting them Susi and Vhanja
I read A Night in the Floating World whilst on holiday. It was a beautifully written, epic love story, but for some reason I couldn't fit Xie within my idea of who Sherlock is. I've read plenty of AU's that worked for me, but this one felt too far removed from his fundamental personality (in my head, anyway). Xie was gorgeous, but she felt like a separate character and Sherlock as himself seemed OOC to me. However I still loved the story, and I'm very impressed with the author's world building. I'm glad I read it.

Glad you liked it, ukanuz.
You know, after getting into Johnlock and reading a few fics, I got interested in the top 10 (or whatever number) of Johnlock fics.
And the first one was always Nature and Nurture by earlgreyteay68.
And I read the premise, just went "what?" and ignored it. I will happily admit to being a grinch. I don't have children, I am not particular fond of children and I have no interest in reading about them in the Johnlock context.
However, even so... after spending a year or so reading various Johnlock fics of my choice, I kept returning to that list, thinking... as ridicilous as that premise may sound, there must be a reason for why it's number one of all Johnlock fics written?
And so curiosity got the better of me, and I gave it a go. And fell in love with the story about two paragraphs in.
I am not a children's person. Never was, never will be. But I love this story to bits. It's one of those few stories, a long with wordstrings, that makes me curl my toes in joy for every paragrahp I read. It's the most adorable, heart warming thing I've ever read. I am now rereading it, enjoying it all over again, which was what brought up this post to begin with.
So if you're like me, and have no interest in childrens and toddlers in the Johnlock universe whatsoever - I recommend this story dearly It's absolutely, toe-curlingly, amazing

Well I have kids so I wasn't particularly put off by that idea, but it's the whole clone thing that caught my interest, I just think the concept of Sherlock raising his own baby clone is both hilarious and touching. I agree, it's worth reading and rightly belongs in the top 10

Nature and nurture is one of my all times favourites. It is so sad that the author is writing for another fandom now. :-(

I read this quite nice WWI-AU fic:
Bring Me Back to Life by yalublyutebya
Summary: After being injured on the Front, John Watson is sent to Craiglockhart Hospital for psychiatric treatment and finds himself sharing room with the mysterious Sherlock Holmes.
19 chapters long and completed, this was a lovely read. I was particularly fascinated by the time era - more modern than ACD, but certainly more historic and traditional than BBC Sherlock. A difficult middle-era to balance, but I think the author did a great job of it.

Leveling Up
This deceptively short 36k-word story is told entirely through emails, texts, and voice chat logs, and is an absolutely adorable 'different meeting' fic where John and Sherlock both play videogames to de-stress and stave off boredom. The spot-on characterisation will draw you in from the very first chapter and you'll be spotting little details (like the thing about Sherlock's steam account) that'll make you giggle with glee. Also gets rather hot towards the end. Absolutely brilliant!

Well I like a good recommendation, so I'm giving Leveling Up a go right now. I know absolutely nothing about video games so when I got to the mention of Steam a couple of chapters in, I had to google it, and came up with something called Genital Jousting in the results. The YouTube trailer for this game is disturbingly hilarious!

Steam is a distribution platform for many hundreds of thousands of games on the PC, but that is hilarious that the first thing you saw when searching it was Genital Jousting, LOL!

As a gamer, I am very much familiar with GameFaqs, guides, levels, quests and all the rest of the gaming language. So this fic was perfect for someone like me who's both a gamer and a Sherlock fan - what's not to like?
I'm at chapter 13 now and I loved it about two paragraphs in. The names of the quests and bosses used in the game is making me grin with glee. Toe-curlingly enjoyable fic!

"Doing it for a case" is always a fun trope in the Sherlock universe, and this one has the brilliant Emma Grant touch, making a kinda unbelievable-sounding scenario work. Chapter 7 is an "utterly gratuitous epilogue of porn" which is just the icing on the cake

I finished this a couple of days ago, and I loved it. Both the incredibly hilarious and awesome gaming part of it, and the more serious tone towards the end of the fic. Lovely read, thanks for the rec!

Thos story has a truly amazing concept. One of my favorite AUs out there.

Oh yes, that's a great one. One of the few pieces of fiction where I read the ending before I got there.
