I've been busy lately with some huge commissions! Painted this fairly quickly as a day's break from them.

Lol, you're not the only one who appreciates it, in the writing contest I'm holding someone entered a poem called 'An Ode to the Neckle'. Art class was the same for me! They wouldn't let me sketch, they made me paint when I'd never done it before, ended up with a C. Nothing less motivational than being forced out of your preferred medium! Can't wait to see more of your wonderful sketches, or to see this one complete.

Gosh, there really are fans all over! Do you watch with subtitles or dubbing? i'd hate to think of you missing out on Benedict's wonderful voice! Your English is super, by the way. A damn sight finer than many native speakers!

Of course! How could I not be, it's amazing. I'm almost at the end of season three now. Gasp, you like it even more than Sherlock?

Absolutely lovely! Your attention to detail is stunning (I think I see a neck freckle in there!) Are you studying art or is it a hobby? How long have you been drawing?

Sorry for missing your question here, mozartlocked! I know you got the answer over in reddit but I'll answer it here too for anyone else who wants to know, one entry per person so everyone has the same chance. Also if anyone has any questions you can contact 'prosopagnosiape' (that's me) on reddit.

It's a really wonderfully shot one, which makes for a great painting! When I got to that scene on a recent rewatch I had to stop and printscreen ti for later. Or now rather! So many great scenes to choose from, but that one's gotta be one of the best. Reminds me of this piece of AvP art for some reason http://www.dididado.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/alien_vs_predator.jpg

Got a new one!

Thanks all, hope you like this one.

This one is done on mounted canvas, 12 by 16 inches. Picture should be full size, as long as your computer screen is the same resolution as mine!

Thanks guys! I'll not give this it's own thread since it's not our dear Benedict, but I just finished RDJ and wanted to share.

I'm late to the party, just started watching House (half way through season 2 now). What an amazing show! It'll certainly fill the void for another... well, a couple of weeks or so. As is my thing, I did a painting. http://i.imgur.com/7aqjm3t.png

Thank you all! It really means a lot, honestly I paint mostly for a few kind words. Love an audience!

@ clareiow: Monet! I'm assuming you mean in style rather than how good it is or else you must be barmy! I can sort of see the similarity, which is interesting because he's not someone I've ever really looked into. Must remedy that at some point.

Sorry for taking a while to get back to you, got MRSA, lol.

@ Phantom Lady, good luck getting your sea legs! The brush will be an extension of your arm before you know it. Can't wait to see what you create.

@ Harriet + Tiggy Hello! Lovdely to meet you and thanks.

@ Mr Holmes himself, thank you! Have you seen the more recent two in the fan art section? I've started taking commissions recently. Apparently I've fairly recently crossed over the threshold of aptitude to make people interested all of a sudden, which has been fun! If you're interested in a painting or a print I can certainly arrange that, I've sent a few about.

Thank you all! Decided to leave the background blank, to not distract from the subject as belis said, and because someone pointed out that it's not his deduction face.

By original I mean not plagarised from anywhere, and preferably written for this this competition (though I think I'm fine to give people some leeway with that if they've written something very recently that they want to use). It can be fan fiction, poetry, essay, puzzle, whatever as long as it's written. Sherlock fan fiction is just fine, two entries so far are something from the POV of Sherlock's mother set at the end of Reichenbach Fall, and a WhoLock crossover! I hope you'll all give it a shot!

Dunno what the background is supposed to be, it was just blurry stuff but I like some abstract, I'm thinking of filling the gap with some Sherlock train of thought sort of text, any suggestions?
