Well we assume he was naked...but then he has no qualms about going to Buck House in just a sheet!

Ok, how are we feeling about that? Lol
I suppose there was very little danger of anybody making a pass at him when in the palace. And he did have a very nice sheet, most of the time.

I too was glad to see her again. Love all the continuity maintenance Moftiss are doing *nod*

The thing that bugs me about the bathroom giggles is that Sherlock had to be naked when Janine came in, hadn't he? And she had no qualms barging in on him just so. I wonder how did he manage to be ok while naked around somebody at all while simultaneously not allowing Janine to take things too far *and* staying in character. Brilliant, as John would say!

It's one of the things that makes him uniquely Sherlock.  I think the show has actually stuck quite closely to that, even in the "relationships" with Irene and Janine - he's very guarded, never lets himself go down that route.   Personally, I don't want to see him go there with anyone.  And if they did go there (with John, or anybody, I suppose), there's no going back - we'd have lost "our" Sherlock.

Yeah, that's the proverbial cake for me. Sherlock is so guarded, it's a delight to see his resolve take a hit from time to time. An acknowledged relationship would ruin the fun but I don't see Moftiss being too cowardly and not addressing this subplot at all in the end (whenever the end may come).

Maybe he finished his shower by then? Altho he looked like he needed a bath in desinfectant after that drug den.

Either way, Sherlock must have been very ressourceful to both keep appearances and not allow things to progress. This is why I enjoyed the scenes with Janine a lot, even tho I went at first "what does she have what I don't!?" Lol

I'd love to, but alas, no such thing in my neck of the woods.

May I ask what the hell happened in the bathroom? That was a very convincing display, no wonder John believed it. However, IN the bathroom, how does Sherl fake the intimacy? It sort of sounded like they shared a bath, so he had to be naked, right?

I liked Janine, she was tons of fun and I enjoyed the recent cameo too, but this bathroom scene just doesn't add up.

Too many good shows jumped the shark when their main characters *eloped*, so I'm not confident that would be a good idea here. I enjoy aloof Sherlock too much, it makes the struggle with his feelings even more dramatic. On the other hand, Moftiss surprised me more than once already so maybe they'll find a way for Sherlock and John to have the cake and eat it.

Not sure if it's only me, but I felt that Sherlock looked very different on the plane in TAB then he did in HLV. There is something off with his eyes, his skin colour... is it just clever make-up/lighting/acting? When he tears up the list and asks Mycroft to pardon him like a "proper big brother" he doesn't really look like himself at all.

Do we know when the scenes were shot? We know that the cemetery scene was done during the TAB filming, not when shooting HLV. So maybe they did the plane scenes a year ago as well with Benedict wearing a wig. We know there is a wig, Clare has tweeted photos, afaik.

And there I thought they were so clever and filmed the present time scenes together with HLV so that nobody notices any present time shooting during TAB :o
I actually compared the scenes on the plane. Well, they had me fooled. The mood was very different, but I thought Ben looked the same :o

May I revive this poll with a yes?

I was a little thrown by all the sexuality discussions in the first ep (the gods of subtlety must have wept, I thought), but then I got the joke and was enjoying it immensely up until season 3.

And then I finally understood the attraction of slash! Didn't get what the hype was about in my other fandoms like Star Trek or Harry Potter, but Johnlock is so... self-explaining This extra layer of tension is great for the character development and provides awesome angst.

I'm a sucker for UST, however, so I'm not sure whether I want to see something definite on screen. Love all the banter and drama, tho

Ah, and welcome to the Dark Side!

Thank you, I'm thoroughly enjoying the Dark Side's cookies
All the discussions here are the best way to cope with the emotional OD.

May I jump right in?
The OD thing is really bothering me. They say it's an OD but Sherlock just walked out of it, so it couldn't have been so serious, could it? I really don't like the suicide idea so maybe he had most of the list (his usual?) injected before the tarmac scene to be able to cope better, and injected the rest of the list on the plane after learning the recent news?

Um, hi. This is awkward

I'm very new to the fandom. I began watching the show only two weeks ago after deciding that my life-work balance needed a splash of color, and Sherlock sounded like a show right up my alley.

While I enjoyed the first season a lot for its humor and flamboyance, I became really involved during S2 and spent a lot of time catching up on trivia, extras, interviews etc. last week. It went downhill from there.

I had to wait for like 5 days (ha, ha! does that even count as a wait in this fandom?) for the Victorian special with the image of almost crying Sherlock on the plane etched into my retinas, and while I'm glad I got my resolution yesterday, I'm sort of dreading the year to come till the next season aires.

So here I am - a lurker with an itch to contribute to the discussion
As for the actual introduction... I'm a Russian living in Austria, a financial analyst and a mom, a sci-fi fangirl with an old love for Khan, and a crafter/cosplayer with my Sherlock wig already in the mail
