The end scene of The Great Game is one of my favorites in the whole show. But as far as a cliffhanger, I'd go with Season 2.

I think the writers/producers should NOT have let us know that Sherlock was still alive and unharmed at the end of episode 3 or season 2.

I was really surprised at that bit myself. I get that it might have caused a huge headache for everyone involved of they hadn't given the audience something to hold onto for the long hiatus, but it still seemed a bit too much of a tip off. It works beautifully in the scene, but I think it would have worked just as well without it. Though, I probably would have been one of the crazy folk wondering if it really was over til I heard about the 3rd series, so I guess I should be grateful.

At first I thought the same. But I think it's more interesting to figure out HOW he survived rather than DID he

I understood it is to be a trilogy and Martin has to return to film a bit more...
But I don't EVER think they will film Sherlock without him.

They have had everything filmed Peter filmed so much that there was plenty for three. Just like LOTR, he originally filmed plenty and added an hour or more to each movie in the extended versions of the DVDs. So, there probably won't be much more to the extended Hobbit DVDs is my guess.

Too funny! Martin is definitely his own guy - not like everyone else

I want! Haha. I almost got it actually but shipping made it too expensive for a book.

Alright, no prob. I just hadn't heard of anything bad happening recently. I guess I just don't keep up with fan happenings as much as I think I do.

This article is posting about a very specific part of the fandom...which does seem to be quite large though. I do agree with this:

" “I think the silliness is part of the phenomenon," Sokoloff tells The Daily Beast. “It’s part of Sherlock, too. It doesn’t take itself too seriously. To be a Cumberbitch you want to have that level of self-awareness about how ridiculous you’re being." "

I have noticed on a lot of tumblrs that the BC/Sherlock fans will make fun of themselves, which is good. Others do not.

Not sure if I agree with you on this one. Nicknames are so in the norm. "Ben" is a simple way of shortening his name - not a special nickname (in my opinion). Heck, I write "Ben" for faster typing basically

However, because of a couple of recent fan incidents that the press have thankfully missed I do wonder :
1.  If Benedict will be quote so generous in his time at(for instance) stage doors and
2.  Whether he'll do any more signings.

What are the "recent fan incidents"?? (I'm not so in the loop with this kind of thing)

I forget where but I read that Peter Jackson said we will get a "glimpse" of Smaug in the first movie.

People can read what someone has written any way they like in their head. They can read it with a rude tone even if it's not intended. You could say the same thing to someone in person and they may not be offended then. Maybe taking this into consideration when you post something that is questioning someone's thoughts? To possibly simply re-word something when it is about another member's opinions? I get the impression you don't want to cater to anyone or change but it's just a thought. I don't think this is about changing per se, just at least adding some smileys or something? I dunno :/ And I would suggest to stay away from threads that annoy you but you can't really when you're a mod, right? You could split up sections of the forum between mods?

OCD very often has nothing to do with cleanliness or tidiness.

Nor do I think he had 'the vanity of personal appearance'. He dressed as to what the occasion needed. In the time of canon Holmes, personal grooming was a given in the social strata he was in.

But as for applying a label to Sherlock Holmes, he expected everything in a certain logical order.
Don't most people?

Yeah, OCD doesn't have to do with always wanting things neat/perfect. It's when someone has to perform "rituals" to deal with extreme anxiety. I don't think Sherlock has this

I don't think he cares much about things being tidy either. His room is clean but if he had an issue, he'd want the whole flat to be neat I believe

Some silly advertising appears to be starting in earnest,   the Denny's restaurant chain is offering some Middle Earth menu selections:

I would have one or two things off that menu! Funny but cool they're doing that.

Will be getting advanced tickets on Nov 7th

I have a suggestion regarding pics in members' signatures:
Shall we introduce some limit as to the size of the pictures in a profile? I mean that some users have so large pictures in their signature, that it is hard to read a topic because their pictures occupy most of the page. Surely all the photos are beautiful and deserve attention, but it would be more convenient for the members themselves if pictures are not large.
I know there are certain rules regarding the maximum size of the pics in many other forums, so, I hope you will support my idea. Thank you!

I do love everyone's pictures but making them smaller would make for easier reading
