I don't think we will either, at least not in the usual 2-3 years we've been getting them

Death threats towards Moftiss!?! How horrible!

I'm worried that our fandom is about to destroy ourselves in rage over what we didn't get! Whether people like it or not, s4 is canon. It may be open to interpretation (that whole reality vs MP vs EMP vs John's MP? debate *rolls eyes*), but not a reason for death threats or general nastiness. With an indefinite waiting time for the next season, we'll have to be careful with how we occupy this time...

What about the screenshots that have been going around? Are some of those fake, then?

I would love to see a fourth episode, although I'm happy with what we've got. It would fall in line with that "TV history" line they said, though I agree that "TV history" is kind of pointless if you don't have anyone aware that it's even happening!

Hey fandom,

I haven't been keeping up much with Sherlockian news much this week, what with college starting back up in the States and all, but I keep hearing all these 4th episode rumors going around. Where are these coming from??? Are they true(ish)? Curious to hear y'all's thoughts and explanations of this

Most of my reaction was confusion, because it seemed so OOC for the show. Same for Mycroft bad-mouthing John (I was a little slow there, lol). But Molly and Sherlock, the realization of who Redbeard actually was, and the scene where John was trying to shoot Big G all had me in tears. I probably would've cried less normally, but I was streaming it on my computer in my dorm all by my lonesome with no roommate to hear me tearing up/yelling at the screen.

All of these are so true!

Two scenes not mentioned (or I missed?) that made my day
1. Mycroft in the fisherman's disguise
2. Fat Mycroft eating cake in a flashback made me so excited

Yes, I've been looking for this thread!

I wasn't a fan either. The episode did not feel like Sherlock. Normally if there's a twist, it seems to be something that you would slap yourself upside the head about and think, "Oh, why didn't I see that?" With this episode, half the time I caught myself thinking , "What is this mind****???" It made no sense. There were too many loose ends and last minute additions and OOCness. Moftiss were really selling themselves short on this one. Were there some good moments? Yes. Did they have a solid ending to the season, possibly the series? Sure. But on the whole, it just felt cheap.

The ending left me feeling, idk, distanced from Sherlock. I guess it was good to be satisfied when I saw the credits roll, kind of like when you have dessert and stop and say, "That's good, but I've had enough now." But, it didn't have me begging for more, which makes me wonder how excited I would be if we heard we have a Season 5.

I just watched it last night, so I'm still working out how i feel about this. I so hope that I'll like it more the second time, but I'm not counting on anything.

Honestly, TFP was nothing like what I've seen from other episodes. Yes, it did have moments of creativity (having Moriarty come in and later flashing "5 years ago"), but there was no mystery like the old Sherlock's. To me it felt as if someone was writing a drama/thriller type show with the Sherlock characters stuck in, and I was really sad to the see the season end with that feeling.

Not sure if these belong here, since it's more nitpicking, but here goes.

Where exactly was that well? Who got John out of it?
How did Eurus get off the island?
How did Eurus keep footage of Moriarty all those years?
Did Smallcroft ever get anywhere?

I don't think so either, but I can't wait for the day when Sherlock to amend that line: "It's never twins,...well, except for this case."

Woah, that blew my mind a little!

The connection to Moriarty makes me think it's not a coincidence. All the speculation around Eurus and "Miss me" and all that plus this are either deliberate attempts to confuse us or actual clues. I lean towards the latter. My question is: did John hear "the east wind" from Mycroft before he said this or was it the first time he/anyone around him had mentioned it?

We never hear outright that Sherrinford is the same as Eurus. I think that connection comes from people trying to connect the dots and getting ahead of themselves. (I actually have no clue what I think on this whole matter. It's so up in the air right now!)

Wouldn't that be awesome. Moriarty is actually connected to Sherlock's family? Might be one of them even?

I cannot wrap my head around it right now. Maybe they are on the same side, and it's just for attention. But then why threaten John?

Mycroft said he/she was "secure". Apparently not. But it's a hint Sherrinford isn't really a nice one. Or at least quite dangerous right now.

I don't support the "Sherrinford is the 4th sibling" theory, but what if in some twisted way Sherrinford = Moriarty?

I agree it doesn't make much sense, but it was just a funny thought that occurred to me as I read Whisky's post!

Exactly, Liberty!

Just because John did X and Sherlock did Y doesn't give either of them the right to purposefully retaliate in such a way. John could have vented his anger in some other way, but by kicking the person he believes was to blame? That's not cool. Ever.

It is what it is, as Sherlock said. (Not exactly in context, but true.) They can't undo what happened, but John really needs to get a grip on his emotions.

When is the East Wind mentioned in previous episodes? Any quotes? I wonder how much Mycroft knows...

I honestly want Sherrinford to be a code name for somebody, not another sibling. (2 secret siblings in 2 episodes? Seems a bit much to me.) I don't think that Sherrinford is Eurus. Why would Mycroft be in contact with his evil sister? (Unless for government purposes?)

I'm just curious what her agenda is. She's working (with/for) CS, why else would she have shown up as Faith or gotten the note? (Were all Sherlock's deductions about the note/real Faith true then?) But then there was that "Miss me?" line too, right? I wonder how she connects to Moriarty...

Okay, I've had a night to sleep on this (not much tho!) and here are my jumbled thoughts:

-This episode totally makes up for ep1! The editing was good, the flow was good, the acting was brilliant, and the plot was fantastic! I'm so excited to see TFP, but trying not to think about it being the last for awhile. Only major complaint: wished for more Lestrade and Molly.
-Got drawn in right away, unlike the last episode
-Felt a little bad for John about ghost Mary. Like PunchMeInTheFace said a few pages earlier, I had a fanfic idea for John hallucinating Sherlock in the same way as this episode and always being heartbroken when he realizes each time he's gone (I know, lots of angst), but never followed through because I'm an awful writer.
-Sherlock had a lot of character development in this episode. Even high, he still was kind and recognized how suicidal lady in red was and wanted to help
-Mixed feelings on John. He's obviously messed up if he still see's Ghost!Mary, but beating Sherlock up because he can't accept her death? nOT okay
-Hudders wins the episode IMO. Loved the car scene, loved her lines, love her thoughts on Sherlock.
-The reptile line had a completely different meaning than we thought, but I think she meant it just like John and others referred to Sherlock as a "machine."
-Did not see Lady Smallwood X Mycroft coming!
-Or Sherrinford as a sister
-On Sherrinford, we don't actually know for sure that Sherrinford=Euros. I've seen the 4th brother theory all over Tumblr, but I really hope it's a code word. It would be like Moftiss to take whats canon (even if not ACD) and put a twist on it.
-Culverton, ugh! I was really worried for Sherlock for awhile there. Hats off to Toby Jones, his villain scared me more than CAM
-Aw, the hug! I don't ship, but if that somehow led to Johnlock, I wouldn't be terribly surprised[img]http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons

I haven't looked through others' comments, because it's way late here, but can we give a round of applause to badass Mrs H in this episode? Everyone was soooo good in this episode, but she was one of my favorites
