I agree there were definitely good moments-- good lines included to honor or acknowledge highlights of previous episodes (you all have provided prime examples). But, for example, there was also at least one scene where he said effectively "Moriarty was wrong. There was another person who mattered. The person he thought mattered the least was actually the one that mattered the most. That person was you, Molly Hooper." That's practically the same thing as what he said in TRF, and there were other scenes (I need to rewatch) where it's just basically the same conversation or set of lines all over again. One liners are awesome, but I wasn't so happy with entire conversations or monologues being used almost verbatim.

I enjoy references. It's fun to pick them out and I squeal every time I see a cinematic tip of the hat. It's wonderful that Moffit and Gatiss pay so much attention to their fans, and I love that they included nods to various theories, fan desires (kiss with Molly, almost kiss with Moriarty), and the original stories... but it seems that almost every scene had (or revolved around) a nod to one thing or another. It got to the point where it was laughable (as in ludicrous) and I thought it was too much, even though each individual reference was enjoyable to watch. What do you think of all the references? Does anyone else feel like they over did it?

Did anyone else notice they reused quite a few lines from TRF, and repeated several lines within the episode? How do you feel about it? Like it? Hate it? Depends on the line?

Personally, I like some of the things they included, but for the most part I think they relied on it too heavily (such as the conversation about needing Molly) and it just came off as.... cheesy. On this count, I'm disappointed in them.

NiTeLight, a belated welcome from me

What do you mean "might not be real"? Can you explain how that''s possible?

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Aww. I love the stories behind all the usernames, pictures, and signatures. So creative and unique!

Well, NiTeLight is kind of my internet name. I use it on pretty much every forum I'm on. I originally came up with it for the first forum I joined (enfpforum, which is dedicated to Meyers-Briggs typology). I'm INTJ and the first cognative functions associated with that type are Ni and Te (in that order), hence NiTe. Because of that, I wanted to use the word "night" somewhere in my username so I could incorporate that in there. I've always loved night, because it's calm and quiet (very much like me). I always feel there's something magical and invigorating about it. My mom suggested "light" because I tend to be happier and vivacious/spirited than the majority of my peers (nightlight = light in the night, which works nicely if you take my broody, disheartened peers as metaphorically being darker like night). I settled on NiTeLight because when I think of nightlights, I think of the warm, soft light, the beauty of dim light, and the almost unintrusive presence, which matches me well (I'm sweet, quiet, introverted, tend to be the sideline- or hidden- observer in social situations, etc.). The last reason I chose it is because I find beauty and appeal in both dark things and light things (literally, e.g. enjoying a sunrise as much as a thunderstorm, and metaphorically, e.g. hurt/comfort in fan fiction).

My avatar is based off my username. I'll probably change it based on the season (e.g. a jack-o-lantern during October, or a Christmas tree during December) but for the most part, I like lanterns that give off a warm feel (like candle flame, not the harsh cold light of LEDs). I'm not 100% happy with the image I currently have, so I'll likely keep changing it until I find one I like.

My signature will also probably eventually change, especially once season 3 comes out, but for now I like it as-is. Both quotes are related to the last episode of season 2. The first on

I'm not fluent, but I can hold a pretty decent conversation (not just basic "Nice weather today. It's cloudy") in Spanish, Japanese, and ASL. Working on German now...

Watched season 1 and 2 about a year ago, nearly died with frustration and curiosity at the end, went looking for theories, found the fan art page and have never been able to leave. I'm addicted.    I lurked about half a year on and off, then finally got around to making an account so I could comment, especially considering season 3 is coming up...

The Irregulars
The Irregulars
Summary: Sherlock Holmes did not do relationships. However it wasn't his fault that some young members of his homeless network, the Irregulars, had taken to calling him 'Dad'. Nor was it his fault that the police got the entirely wrong idea when they showed up
Warnings: Nil - a very hillarious series of vaguely related one shots.

Hi everyone!

I'm so excited I finally made an account on here. I've lurked quite a while looking at fan art, reading theories about season 3, and just obsessing over all things Sherlock in general.    You all are awesome and this site has been keeping me sane between seasons...

I enjoy older sci-fi books (Ender's Game, The Ship Who Sang, etc.), fantasy novels, and Disney kids movies. Though I'm not typically much of a fan of older movies, I enjoyed Star Trek (original series) and Star Wars. My favorite book is Name Of The Wind (by Patrick Rothfus) and my favorite movie is How To Train Your Dragon. I love Irish and movie music, languages, and psychology. I also enjoy sketching. My current biggest hobby is reading/writing fan fiction, but I have yet to do something Sherlock-themed (I know, shame on me). My favorite pairings are: Phil/Clint (Avengers) and John/Sherlock. I'm always happy to trade recommendations!

You can also find me on several other forums (AVEN, AO3, and enfpforum) under the same username. If you're ever on one of these, say "Hi!" sometime.

I don't like the books, any other adaptations, or Dr. Who, but I can talk BBC Sherlock for hours.   I'm particularly fond of the intellectual debates such as theories for Sherlock's return. But funny, silly pictures and fan art are equally awesome.

That's me in a nut shell!  *Waves*  Hello!
