Heartbreaking, awesome scene. And interesting that John was never an alternative.
Yeah. My JL heart flutters at that thought every time. I mean, even Mycroft ships them.

That little detail broke my heart... it said a lot about him; under duress he's still has his dignity.

Mycroft doesn't ship them at all.

No matter what you want to call it, Mycroft understands how much Sherlock and John mean to each other and that Sherlock would be lost without John.

Sherlock being all cold and rational as always:
Haha although I like how he rationally undid his jacket button so he had the freedom of movement to really go to town on the coffin
Sherlock's shout at the end as the camera above zoomed up and out was heartbreaking!

I so felt his frustration..

They must have gotten it right from the very first time. I still can't believe the coffin looked solid enough and yet Ben actually broke it! Also, all the splinters flying around! Man! That was a stunt!

I bet it was good to get your frustrations out! And I think it was a pretty symbolic act!
Also... a gentleman knows when to undo his jacket-button.

Wow, that's impossible to see for us colour-blind people. Thanks for sharing.
I don't know how to quote two different comments... I wanted to say that I loved how Mycroft "volunteered" to be shot by Sherlock. Whether he ships Johnlock or not, he knows how badly losing a best friend affected Sherlock the last time. Mycroft made a lot of mistakes, but we can say he's a good big brother.

He is and I hope Sherlock realises that now.

I didn't notice the hat - that's wonderful! And yes, Mycroft giving up his life to stop Sherlock losing his best friend again - wow!
