Maybe those men with guns are looking for Mary?!?!

We've had some army presence in the first ep in the very beginning, remember? Maybe they are wrapping up that arc.

This idea does make sense and I also like it a lot. Let's hope this is what we'll get to see next season!

Uhm, did the Sherlock production have any grants from the EU?

This is a sad day. And I fear inner turmoil for Britain since Scotland and Northern Ireland voted Remain. Seeing political campaigns exploiting people's justified and often unjustified fears is always a terrible thing. Which does not just go for the UK but also for the US, Germany, Austria, and many other countries.

It was a very close call in Austria last election with only a 0.3% spread at some point. Same pattern (rural areas vs. cities) like in the UK now. Well, people's fears are being misused all around the world all the time, no wonder there. Still a sad day for Europe.

It would be great to start a poll on ao3 with fewer questions but a larger sample.

Reading your reviews guys is so much fun! It's like reliving the eps again

1. A Study in Pink
The best thing I love about the first season is how boyish and flamboyant John and Sherlock still are here. I watch ASiP if I need to cheer up. Also, I still remember thinking when watching for the first time how shockingly beautiful Sherlock looked in that ep (He's still beautiful in later eps but I'm not so easily shocked anymore, lol.)
Mass-texting in the beginning bothered me because it seemed far-fetched. Also, the girlfriend/boyfriend convo seemed to be too much "in your face" at first but I've long since put it in the context so it's all fine now
I also LOVED Mycroft's introduction. I came to Sherlock totally unprepared and unspoiled and thought Mark played Moriarty! Still love following his and John's exchanges and seeing how Moftiss have tricked me That was an awesome twist. A very clever writing imo.

2. The Blind Banker
I found the story line a little annoying because apparently every show needs a China town ep. Loved the architecture porn tho.

3. The Great Game
Loved the storyline, the evil plan, the tension! The Andy West story felt too much like a B-plot tho. Loved Gay Jim, what a wonderful way to introduce Moriarty.

4. A Scandal in Belgravia
Love this ep to bits, it's my favorite one mainly because of the game Sherlock and Irene are playing. (Has anybody seen Voyager's Counterpoint? The same battle of intellects *happy sigh*)
So many delicious twists! "I AM SHERLOCKED" came completely unexpected even tho I'd seen such tee-shirts on many conventions. The ending made me very happy too - for girly reasons, but also because it made the ep so perfectly symmetrical. Symmetry was extremely enjoyable throughout the whole ep, beginning with the main players' actions (dressing up for the battle, studying photographic evidence...) and finishing with the perfectly symmetrical shots in the Palace.
There's simply no end to the beauty of this ep. It's

A non-speaking part may imply a flashback about an event rather than character... and that in the last ep of the season... Redbeard?

I want too hard for it to be real   you are right about the specifics tho. Maybe they had to be provided to find the best visual match rather sooner than later? Btw, how mzch of a CV can a 6 yo have...

I fear he was wearing it all the time. Must have been a trick of the light. But there is still the change of clothing which is interesting. Same place on different days? And in front of a bridal shop of all things?

John's wearing the ring is probably the best confirmation that Mary is still in, isn't it?

I wonder what is inside his bag. Ransom for baby watson/Mary?

Maybe Mary has thrown him out on his ass and he had time only to stuff his pre-folded shirts and a tooth-brush into his bag

Because fumbling with the ring is even more amazing if it's Sherlock's MP rather than reality.
I mean, regardless how I feel about Mary the character, she's the best thing that could have happened to the plot. See how much drama and angst and action she's caused? Yum!

I don't know, would a man in pain climb onto the railing? Look at his feet. It's like he's looking at something down on the other side.

Maybe it's really the 70's, Lady in Red is Sherlock's mother aaand...
... Culverton is his real father!
*heavy Darth Vader breathing*

No srsly.
Maybe she's Sherlock and Mycroft's mum.

Maybe our Lady in Red is the future Baby Watson in Sherlock's head? She has something from John (the cane) and something from Mary (abandoning Sherlock in distress when he's down and suffering and apparently clutching at his stomach - where her mother has shot him all those years ago to keep her secrets).

So exciting! And I never thought they'd be shooting almost into the morning. Must have been a hell of a scene. High time for a doctor - The Doctor - to come and help Sherlock. Srsly. Because it's either he's faking it for the Red Dress, or he's really terribly ill. My money is on the latter since he seemed friendly and protective of the Red Dress in the earlier scenes.

Absolutely!
This is the bi flag. I mean, maybe Mary is truly in the past after this ep.

On a side note, there is a convenient web cam:

The Eye is red at the moment (close enough to the bi color scheme tho...).
