Have fun, Matty. Maybe your hubby could imitate us by squealing occasionally so it feels like we are there with you?

Not really, no! Just a nice little homage IMO. Being a fan of both shows, I had to smile (sad smile, of course) at John's speech when I got the reference to Kirk's speech.

If you compare "Star Trek - The Wrath of Khan" and Sherlock you'll fine one common point:
Both Sherlock and Spock give their own lives to save their friends/crew. And both return from the dead.
John also kind of quotes from Kirk's speech at the end of Wrath of Khan when he visits Sherlock's grave.
Kirk: "of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his was the most... [voice breaks] human"
John: "you were the best man, and the most human ... human being"

Update:
The Metropolis shows STID in OV on Saturday at 16:25 and 19:00. I would prefer the later, but could also be there earlier.
I'm going to book the tickets as soon as know who will be there. (I won't have to pay instantly to book them, so I would book a ticket for "maybe"s, too.)

Big Miracle
Circus of Horrors
Day the Earth stood still, The
Eagle Eye (Sherlock's)
Forrest Gump
Godfather, The (thinking of Mycroft)
Hunger Games (Sherlock's not been to the supermarket again!)
In The Heat Of The Night
Jumper
King And I (The)
Longest Day, The (case still not solved, Sherlock and John still running around London at 5 a.m., usual stuff)

Sherlock and John hunt a serial killer who uses The Nine Circles of Hell as his modus operandi.
This is a alternate universe fusion casefic based on the movie Se7en and Dante Alighieri's Inferno.
Please read the warnings - the descriptions of the bodies/crime scenes are quite graphic
Thank you for posting this one. I didn't feel like christmas, and Eugenia's story was too homey for my current mood, so I gave this one a try. It's dark and "established relationship", but something's going wrong between John and Sherlock. I'ver nearly finished it and would recommend it to everyone who doesn't mind the really gruesome murders.

Makes you wonder why Gladbach still loses so many matches. Maybe she wants to avoid becoming obvious...

Wait! I was just in the bath and had an idea
. A simple HDMI cable, connecting your phone with the tv could maybe work as well. I never tried that but that was my first idea ages ago. If not you could come to Berlin then
.
It's been ages since I've been to Berlin, great idea!
I think when the airing of S3 comes closer we should discuss a meet-up anyway. No-one should watch it alone.

It's just lots of new stuff at once. But I love it already. It's an old one, so my pupils will still make fun of me, but never mind. It's only a shame that I can't find the hardcover I've fallen in love with (I am Johnlocked) for it.

okay, so I'll try and give you the non-Trekkie version of what happened in the first film.
1. Old Spock accidentially travels through time together with the baddie
2. baddie destroys Vulcan
3. Old Spock meets Young Kirk
4. Baddies time travel changes the timeline aka creates a new parallel universe (whatever)
5. Old Spock doesn't return to his own timeline / unverse /whatever so...
6. Young Spock can call him in STID

There is one app from the app store with which you can receive live British TV (and American, Italian, French and lots of others). It´s free and if you have apple tv you can even stream it on your TV. You need a fast internet connection for this (if you want see Sherlock live e.g.
)

Um, do you mean why the old Spock was around at all (which would imply that you never saw the first Abrahms film), or do you mean how communication was possible between the Enterprise and New Vulcan?
