First, here's a link to the full 14 seconds of the shower scene in real running water live action. (Fasten seat belts before clicking) video

Am I the only one who finds the shower scene funny?
He's like 'Ugh, water. Go away, water. I don't like you, water.'Part of what the actor said he wanted to portray with the character, is his pretty much complete indifference to his surroundings unless he is actively engaged in advancing his own agenda.
In the great scene where Harrison surrenders and Kirk starts punching, Harrison's response is perectly calm and blank. The water, the shower, the nudity is all a matter of indifference to him.
Hehe! That was completely AWESOME!

Got a couple more pics for y'all!
I'm not sure if there's a right place to post this kind of thing, but here's a link to a Sun article (some of you may have seen it already) about Benedict Cumberbatch being voted sexiest man 2 years in a row and his reaction to being a "sex symbol" (not a big fan of that particular turn of phrase myself, but it does apply here ) and some other stuff he mentions...he really does sound like an interesting guy

As sexy as this maybe, I, too, prefer the slimmer look. It's great for the STID character but wouldn't fit most of his other parts, not only Sherlock. Just imagine Hawking or van Gogh looking like a hunk.
Pretty much the same here. I don't find any extreme amount of muscle attractive, I prefer 'em lean xD ...any pic of Benedict shirtless though (slim or not) will be considered swoon-worthy in my book!
Where I am it's morning, so...here, have some Benny for breakfast! xD

P.S. Cat among the pigeons time...I think he looks much better with his 'fighting-weight' body/face as in Star Trek.
Me, too. He said in an interview in People magazine that he was eating 4000 calories a day during the ST filming, went up from a 38 to a 42 suit size.
But for Sherlock, the leanness goes along with the fact that Sherlock never eats (I don't count coffee and a packet of Quavers as eating), runs off all his calories, and completely disregards his physical self as anything worth noticing or taking care of.
Right, I remember reading that. Also in that People magazine interview, after being asked "So, you play a really intense character in the new Star Trek film, how does that compare with your real personality?" (something like that) the first thing he responds with is this "I'm a big softie." I was standing in line at a grocery when I read that...I got looks when I did a little jump and smiled widely and went "D'awww", hehe xD

Ah the violin...Sherlock Holmes, I admit that is one of the reasons why I love thee so ...I play the violin too, mine's broken though, bugger
.
Anyway, I just finished watching A Study In Pink again, so so awesome...of course , so many great moments in that episode, in all of them of course, the part where John comes back to the flat and Sherlock is on the sofa, that whole scene...love it! Benedict is a most incredible Sherlock
...stating the obvious right?

Alrighty! And thanks!
That would certainly be appropriate, seeing as how I hit the ground with an audible *thud* when I faint...and when looking at these Benedict pics...I'm getting some good sizable bruises
And that will never do. You need to get yourself a mattress of some kind to keep right next to you as you look this thread over. Then when you thud, you can keep the injuries to a minimum. We who come here all the time, and have for months, have some really nice set-ups, not just mattresses, but we all have a pillow, a blankie, snacks, and a cat to pat while we're down. Personally, I don't even bother trying to sit in a chair when I come here anymore. Just assume the position down on my mattress and THEN open the thread. No more bruises and broken limbs.
Hehe xD, of course, thanks for the advice! For now I should at least place some pillows around my chair, that way - *sees Benedict pic below...
...thud* - ow, yeah I should probably do that now before I get any more damaged!

Character Analysis » POLL: Favourite character after Sherlock & John - Take 2 » May 22, 2013 7:14 pm |
Lestrade! And for several reasons, one being that he has more depth and is vastly more interesting than any other Lestrade in any other Sherlock Holmes adaptation I've seen, and I sense that he does have some genuine level of affection and loyalty towards Sherlock. I like the BBC Lestrade much better than the Lestrade in the books. Rupert does a fantastic job playing him! Another example of stellar casting
