I'm in Michigan! I'll be in Chicago for a long weekend next month.

Cool! Chicago is about 3 to 4 hours (depending on how fast your drive) north of where I am...

A couple of years ago I was in Holland, Michigan, for a a few days attending the Tulip Festival. I really enjoyed it.

No need to be poetic! Someone also posted a photo of Ben in a purple suit. I think it's in "Favourite photos..." Take a look.

Have you seen the t-shirts, etc. at redbubble.com? One of them available in purple, of course, says something like "Benedict, I hope you never find a shirt that fits."

I see att least on my monitor, your signature is in purplish shades -- a purplish blue  and a pinkish purple.

Thanks veecee, I will definitely take a look. Still got lots of exploring to do here so there's a lot I haven't seen yet, but definitely a lot of good stuff here...

Haven't seen the t-shirts yet but I've made a note of the website so I can check it out later...might get some Christmas ideas there...

The bbcode colors I used are actually listed as cornflower blue and pale violet red...there are also a few actual purple colors I hope to try out on another quote I want to add to my signature..

I was nervous he was going to cut himself!

Did I just hear him do an impersonation of Alan Rickman in that video?

He did get a bit close with that knife...

Yes, that was an Alan Rickman impersonation...I've heard him do 1 or 2 others as well, he's actually not bad

This video doesn't just have his hands...obviously because that would frankly be a bit...weird. They do however feature quite a lot.

Even in the Picture for the embeddened video!

love this!

His hands really are beautiful, his fingers look so long and graceful. But of course, everything about Benedict is amazing, not only the hands

I totally agree...

There are several references to Sherlock's hands in ACD, and I think Ben's do the canon justice.

Thanks veecee, I've just started to read ACD so will look for these references...

Oh, ImaSherlockGirl, are you also a Purple Shirt girl?! Welcome to our little club.

lol...I am now! Purple (and its various shades) is one of my favorite colors and on Sherlock (Benedict) it looks even better, so the more purple shirts the better! I'm not any good at poetry though...

Not sure if this is where this post belongs, so feel free to move it if it belongs elsewhere. Anyway...

Maybe I'm being silly, but I think Benedict has beautiful hands (and the rest of him is nice, too).

Oh purple shirt! Oh wondrous shirt!
So dark and deep and glowering.

He must have worn you showering!

OK, rising to the challenge and hoping not to offend anyone...

My husband enjoys Sherlock, but is not obsessed -- and certainly not with the purple shirt. However, he cannot resist a rhyme challenge:

A consulting detective from London
Was a sight to give even a nun fun
In his purple shirt
He had no need to flirt
Oh my, if that shirt should come undone!

And here's my own rhyme-cheater contribution

That purple shirt fits him so nicely
I find I must look at him twice-ly
When the world starts to BORE
I'll look just once more
And thus I'll enjoy myself thrice-ly.

lol...love it!

Welcome, Vox! I'm a newbie myself (as of yesterday...or was it the day before?). I really like this forum, and I'm sure you will as well. Enjoy!

If you like, you can go to "Meet the Members" and "Tell us what part of the world you come from."

Thanks, veecee. I actually did that the same day I "registered". I had a couple of minor glitches, so hopefully my response was accepted. But just in case, I'm in the state of Illinois in US.

you're welcome,  and I  just LOVE  that blue color  you have--  what  name did you use for it?   Hitting quote won't help me;  the post  dosn't show your siggy  inside it.

Thanks! The blue color I used is called cornflower blue, but using the name won't work so you have to use the number for it -- the number is #6495ED. And then I put it in bold face type.

Welcome! I'm a Sherlock girl, too, as are many of us. You really will have some fun here, I'm sure.

So, may I ask, are you Welsh?

Thanks veecee! To answer your question, no, I am not Welsh, though I wouldn't object to being so!

You know you're obsessed with Sherlock when...

1. You watch your Sherlock DVD's (all 6 episodes, plus extras, with and without commentaries) 24/7.
2. You have a board on your Pinterest page labeled "My Sherlock".

Thank you, and thank you, sherlockskitty! I tried to come up with a username that would show how much I really, really like this program, especially since I wasn't sure if I was going to like a "modern-day" Sherlock (I grew up watching Basil Rathbone as Sherlock). But I was hooked within the first 15 minutes of the first episode.
