Its a Mad, Mad, Mad Sherlock: The Comedic World Of Holmes
This essay concentrates on the many of the comedians who have lampooned Sherlock Holmes since shortly after he first graced the pages of “Beeton’s Christmas Annual” in 1887. It also includes parody, burlesque, satire, and caricature mentions of him also. One hunred fifteen pages, full of rare photos, links to videos, and performers you may be totally unaware of! Sherlock Holmes Stories was a category in Single Jeopardy on "Jeopardy - Tournament of the Decades" last evening. I must say these semi-finalists, all multi times champions were VERY VERY WEAK on their DOYLE!!

Surprised to learn a Russian Dr. Watson from 1968 actually also played a Hobbit in a Russian Hobbit film. Learned it from essay below.
"From Watson with Love", essay contains links to the Livanov/Solomin series & the Petrenko/Panin series (with English subtitles!!!!). It also exploxes the history of Russian Holmes & Watson performers. I highly recommend reading it - many good photos, links, and tons of information.

Even though I'm also tempted to finally watch at least the first series of that one. I like Lucy Liu, I'm just a bit doubtful about a female John Watson and an all American setting for Sherlock Holmes.
