I really think this section should have another poll for gay/straight/bi... it would be interesting.. based on all the innuendo in the show...

You know how you know majority of the users on this board are women? Because no-one's voted Irene even though she was naked in the show for crying out loud. If I hadn't already voted for Moriarty, I'd give some love to Irene.

Ah the one doesn't rule out the other... I am a bisexual female and I still find Mycroft a more interesting character than Irene... not everything is about nudity and the perfect body, even though she quite clearly has both of those... still a three piece suit and being the british government... Mycroft can give her a run for her money as far as being interesting goes.

Oh, exciting... I played the recorder (soprano, alto and tenor) for eleven years before I changed to the violin.... I used to love it... I just found it an instrument that was so hard to find a use for.
Have you played long?

Ok, this is just speaking from personal experience but I have a theory. Doctors have diagnosed me with depression and mild PTSD after having been severely bullied in my childhood. I get very depressed and run down when I have time to myself, during holidays and times of low stress but if I am under stress and I have to work really hard, especially if I feel I have a purpose, like caring for someone else, I function really well. In my youth I once stood in front of my tormentors and was ordered, like John, to hold my hand out and prove that it wasn't shaking, and it wasn't. Yet when I got home I cried my heart out curled up in bed. So adrenaline and a feeling of purpose can, in my opinion be very calming to people who have suffered trauma in one way or another. I know my experience can't compare with having been to war and gotten shot at but I guess a simillar function may not be impossible.

A big Sherlock Holmes fan and particularly Sherlock fan of Swedish decent although I lived in London for ten years before work and finances forced me to return to the motherland. I am coming over this summer though and will be at the Regents Park picnic. I am 33 years old in a weeks time, I work as an English teacher and in my spare time I read, write, play the violin, cook and play with my two little black cats. I am culture obsessed and love to study, I have managed to accumulate three and a bit degrees by now and I have no intention of stopping until I drop dead. Although at the moment I am a bit distracted by Sherlock and the writing of fan fiction. Yes I know it can be a bit sad at times but really Sherlock is just the ultimate form of fanfiction, after all Gattis and Moffat wrote it based on someone else's great work so if they can write fanfiction and get away with it I will write fanfiction based on their fanfiction... Ok that may have sounded a bit convoluted but so what... Anyway, look forward to getting to know you all.

Well, I'll be coming. All the way from Sweden. Really looking forward to it. Although it is frustrating me that it costs to much to bring my violin, it really would have been the best accessory.
