This would have been a much better episode if not for two poorly thought out elements:

1) Bluebell should never have "ended up" with Kirsty, and there was no reason for her to die. Stapleton is portrayed as somewhat more intelligent than the other staff at Baskerville, yet she purposely took a rabbit from a research facility to give to her daughter. Purposely we know, because as Sherlock said, animals can't escape "unless they have help". Then when the rabbit turned out to be glow-in-the-dark (who would have thought?), the doctor decided to... kill it? Instead of just taking it back to the lab and replacing it with a similar one from a shop? Kirsty might not even have noticed the difference, except for the fact that the new rabbit didn't glow. Not to mention if Stapleton really wanted to give her daughter a rabbit she could have bought an ordinary one in the first place rather than risk her job taking one from work.

2) Top secret chemical experiment groups don't make t-shirts for all the scientists to wear around town on their days-off.

I came across this post on Tumblr within the past week. I'd never seen it before so I imagine it has only just surfaced very recently. The theories put up by rebloggers strike me as ridiculous but there is no denying this is real and not photoshopped. Go watch TRF and it's there.

I really don't think this is something Sherlock set up. Mycroft is the sneaky, tech-savvy one but I don't understand the purpose of John wearing an earpiece. It actually looks more like a hearing aid to me but we know John isn't hard of hearing. It also doesn't look hi-tech enough for something that Mycroft would use, plus it's visible enough for Sherlock to have noticed, if John was wearing it earlier before he left to see to Mrs Hudson "dying".

Another thing is that whoever was listening on the other end would have heard Sherlock's "note" to John because that's the ear John was holding his mobile to. John and Mycroft were not expecting Sherlock to jump, I don't believe anyone but Moriarty and the snipers saw it coming. So I don't believe John was wearing an earpiece for any reason having to do with the suicide. Ugh, this is going to drive me INSANE.

I don't know, I mean, Lestrade is wearing a scarf and warm coat. Perhaps Mycroft sweats a lot and his office is poorly ventilated. Who knows, we'll have to wait another six months to find out

Did anyone else notice that when her death is announced on TV, they give her age as 48 but when Lestrade is telling Sherlock about her moments later he gives her age as 54? This would be a huge continuity mistake so I imagine she must have been lying about her age to the public (makes sense, given her occupation) and her real age is only known to the police from her birth certificate or something similar.

I'm working on building a mind palace using my childhood home, since a beginner should start off with familiar, real-life places. I'm having trouble visualizing a "blank" palace to put things in though. When I go to shelve something, I get confused between my memory of the table or painting or plant that is supposed to be in a particular spot in real life, and the ridiculous trigger image I'm trying to lay over it. Does that make any sense? I almost want to try building my own brand new mind palace from scratch. Can anyone tell me if they've tried this and found it easier?

I think Sebastian and Sherlock have never been friends. Sebastian comes across to me as a controlling jerk. At uni Sherlock was probably the butt of everyone's jokes and was disliked for being "cold" and not having friends or a social life. If you watch their meeting you can see the subtle emphasis Sherlock puts on the word "friend" and Sebastian's incredulous echo. John senses tension right off and settles the matter with "colleague". It's quite like Sherlock is trying to show Sebastian that yes, he is capable of having friends and that he should be taken seriously.

Sebastian treats him in an overly familiar way as if he is trying to smooth down an old disagreement so that he can use Sherlock's abilities to solve his problem. In his email he calls him "buddy" and when he shakes his hand at the bank he clasps Sherlock's wrist with his right hand, the type of handshake someone uses to show intimacy in a professional setting - though if there is no real intimacy in the relationship, it tends to put the recipient of the handshake off. He doesn't shake John's hand this way, keeping his right hand in his pocket. In Sebastian's mind, John is a "normal" stranger and doesn't need to be ingratiated.

Also, when Sebastian is visited by Sherlock at dinner, where he is dominating the conversation with a funny story, he quickly dismisses him to talk to his secretary - another dominant move, showing that he wants to be in control of the situation even though it is obviously an urgent matter. Sherlock insists on telling him about Van Coon's murder and needles him about the appointment. Sebastian briefly looks down and tugs at his collar - he's been made to look bad and doesn't like it.
