I have found an indiewire blog that has 5 very early Sherlock Holmes 'shorts' i.e. films. It is fascinating to read about each of them and to see the evolution of this medium to tell about Sherlock Holmes. At the end there is also a Muppet excerpt.

And for those interested seeing the older Holmes movies, there's many of them in full at Youtube with manageable video quality. I just watched the ´39 Baskervilles myself yesterday.
