The Institute of English Studies of The University of London is holding a conference entitled: Sherlock Holmes, Past and Present. It will take place on 21-22 June 2013 at the Senate House, Malet St. London WC1E 7HU.
General link to their home page which has a quick link to conferences:
There is then a link to a call for papers. If you click on the link for this it gives you an excellent idea of what the conference might cover.

I'd just like to announce the pleasing news, that myself and a fellow member here (Morton) have been accepted to speak at the conference!
We roleplay with each other a hell of a lot and so we decided to put forth a paper on the interpretation of Sherlock Holmes by a modern audience through the mediums of roleplay and cosplay.
We wrote an introduction saying what our paper was going to be about, sent it off, and got accepted. Now we're meeting up again next weekend to finish the rest of the paper.
We'll be delivering it in full Sherlock & John cosplay (of course!) and will keep you posted on further details.

Congratulations Boss. It should be entertaining for the audience at the very least. Any audience participation planned? Vatican cameos?

Mmhh, May is a bit late to get a good deal on Eurostar for June. I may have to take a leap of faith and book train and hotel already. Do you have any idea whether the registration will be expensive?

Why not give their admin a call and ask? They must have a good idea...I would hope.

This looks like a fantastic event, by the way! I'm definitely going to register for it too. Is someone going to organise a meet of forum members here? That could be pretty entertaining.
Maybe this could be interesting for you:
