It's another mention of suicide. Suicide/self harm has cropped up a few times. It could be argued Mary killed herself by stepping in front of the bullet, in TLD there was a few mentions of suicide and in the google maps of 221B on Sherlock's shelf there was a book on suicide and suicide prevention.
Exactly. The suicide theme has been there since the very beginning. From ASiP over TRF to the latest episode TLD and this twitter case...
Yeah, definitely numerous mentions throughout the whole series.

Just to explain this - the concept was indeed written by Joe Lidster. But the tweets - including Sherlock in the bath with Kermit the frog - were made live by Mark and Steven:

Come to think of it, Arwel said something about a bathtub - again? Maybe the whole event was just a clever build-up to seeing Sherlock in a tub at last

Hahahaha. I can't stop laughing at the pics! Sherlockians are so witty and creative!
Do you know who does run Sherlock's official Twitter account, by the way? It's hilarious.

I don't think it's official. BBC has a list of oficial in-show Sherlock related sites and accounts and twitter isn't among them (I checked this Monday).
