I have always loved Sherlock Holmes. I remember as a child I started reading Conan Doyle's novels in random order. I was lying across my mum and dad's bed reading "The Final Problem" and I cried at the end! When I finally got to the right book, I was so pleased and surprised to discover he had returned. This was in the 1960's - no internet, no blogs, no cable, no mobiles. So I was totally spoiler free. Drat that Conan Doyle for making a little girl cry.
To this day I rejoice in Sherlock Holmes' invulnerability. This latest iteration ("Sherlock") is my favourite, even if my hearing is so poor I must watch it with the captions. Thank you for allowing me to visit.

Boy, am I glad I have discovered this blog. It's such a great place. Especially when you're (Danger! TMI ahead) recovering from Norovirus. It's the rage in New York, and not in a good way.
Just say NO to Norovirus.

Welcome! Loved your story of the 60s, pre-internet, and being so impressed with Sherlock Holmes in original canon. Lovely. I use the subtitles, too, once I get the DVDs. Their accents and rapid-fire speech sometimes leave me in the dust on first watch, lol.
