mmmm... conundrum That's such a beautiful word...

That's what I hope. And I hope the fallout will be over at some point... Sherlock is so unpredictable like that, it's absolutey unsettling...
Series Four Suggestions & Ideas » How Moriarty must have faked it. » January 14, 2014 12:03 am |
Oh I do like this thread.
Joining the -dead!- lot ;)
I wonder, will Sherlock be fooled by that, with all his new emotions? Will he believe Moriarty is back, or will he immediatly realise it's just an invitation for the next game? Why was Moriarty the only person in Sherlock's... whatever it is... mindpalace grave? Why him? Why only him? Or is the "Missedme?" just a tape which Mycroft put live all over the country so he had a reason to have Sherlock staying save in London instead of going wherever to?

However, I do feel like Sherlock's new abilities have made him a lot more unbelieveable. (...) He has become more 'human' in both good and bad ways, and it seems to me that he's become less of a detective. He misses lots of clues, is constantly in need of help, afraid and apparently (according to Gatiss and the series itself) Mycroft is the smarter one. Then why do still need Sherlock?
I've been thinking that, too. Imo, Sherlock is failing too often. He's supposed to be brilliant (of course making a few mistakes now and then). But now, it feels like he's making mistakes all over, fatal ones. Where is brilliant? I miss proper deductions. I don't mind if Sherlock has his flaws. A drug habit and close attachement to people etc. will obviously slow him down. But it's getting too much. We already know that caring is not an advantage for Sherlock, and this series has proved it. I'm still alright with it now, for this series, but I don't want it to go on. I'd like deducing, brilliant Sherlock back. Maybe even in smaller cases again, like the one in TSoT. I love love love HLV. But I really long for "boring" cases for the next series - where Sherlock can be secretly brilliant in a small setting of Baker Street and doesn't have to save the whole world of everybody around him

Watching only for the third time now. Still too much to process. I'm really feeling terribly stupid, but why couldn't Mary just shoot CAM, even with Sherlock as witness?Because John was there and he should not know something about her past. And if she had shot both John had been suspect nr. 1.
But wasn't John next door? He couldn't have known who shot.
I don't think John would ever be suspect of murdering Sherlock. That's just... wrong. And they would need proof.

yes. would have made more sense... that was what I would have expected, too.
Think I just haven't watched it often enough. Working on that now

Oh, and I loved Moriartys little greeting... as long as he stays dead. What about "faking suicide at each other"? I'd find that really boring... yep. I don't want Mary-babies, and I don't want Moriarty back.
God, this episode... to think I was afraid I would be disappointed. Embarassing :D I loved every single bloody second.

Well... That. Was. Amazing. !!
There's not much more to say. I enjoyed every minute of our time together
Thank you all, that were wonderful 8+ hours squeezed in a tiny room full of food, no air to breathe, and so much SHERLOCK :D
I fell asleep around 4.30am, I think.
Let's do this again, I'll be there! ... and maybe the reception lady will even join us next time :D
SherlockianDE: Sorry to hear that Deutsche Bahn let you down. They're reliably annoying.

I'll be there already at 2pm, too
Also, I agree to no spoilers, though I hope we don't have to split up ;)
Friend of mine thinks that's all very crazy, and asked me how I'll recognize you all, once there. Funny, I never worried about that :D
Have save journeys, see you soon!

Oh, I am already so excited
You all seem to be very well prepared !! This is going to be really nice I think
Does anybody come by train and has figured out how to get there? I'm not sure which is the nearest tram station? (on the hotel internet page I've found only directions for cars, and I'm not very familiar with the trams around Düsseldorf...)

Well, maybe it's just because I just love to do Sherlock nights and how to put 15 episodes into one night?!? :D :D ;) God, imagine over 20 hours of Sherlock... okay, forget the doubts, I want that 5th episode quite badly now, actually :D

This can't be true?? If yes, woww??
I am of course happy about MORE Sherlock!! But... how likely is it that they'll be able to keep up the quality? And for how long will it continue? Most long running shows don't get better during time. I don't want Sherlock to be anything but awesome... as awesome as it is right now.
I just pray they know what they're doing, and that they are doing it for joy and quality and not for money and popularity. god why am I so afraid...

I had to look it up. Learning new vocabulary, made me happy
I think it means something like a turning point, when something bound for success stops being successful and brilliant and gets boring and predictable and not-good? Did I get that right?
Actually, I think it could happen to Sherlock at some point, maybe even sooner than later. But it definitely hasn't yet, imo.

Got Sherlock. Not so happy... I always get Sherlock, but for real life, I really wished I was more of a John, or even Lestrade.
Also I chose "patience" in whatever that one question was, and now I'm contemplating if Sherlock is patient or not. I would have thought he wasn't, but then again, maybe with cases, long waiting for murderes and such, maybe he is...
Series Three Suggestions & Ideas » Who else is nervous/scared about His Last Vow? » January 6, 2014 9:08 pm |
I don't like the way it sounds, like it could be Sherlock's fault that something fatal is happening, maybe even to his friends. Does that happen in canon?
I'd prefer blackmail, maybe even a choice, a sacrifice... something like that. I guess it will be Sherlock doing the sacrifice. Because of the vow in TSoT that was mentioned?
Is it for sure that Mary dies already in HLV?

This episode kinda annoys me because it seems they've destroyed everything they'd built in season 2 and especially in TRF.
Yes, this.
The new episode made me rethink TRF completely... what I've thought about Sherlock's character. And I had so much time till series 3 to wrap myself around TRF, that my views are kind of... stuck now. I wouldn't have minded such an episode a few months after TRF. But after such a long time, it was just... too much. too much change. I don't want to rethink TRF, I have done that quite enough, I was finished with that.
I like the fall explanations even less now, I just wanted one short final version, the Anderson scene e.g., and that could have been it. And that there is no proper case, it just annoys me. and the fan stuff... I wouldn't have needed that at all.
After second watching, I can see clearer now where Sherlock is acting and pretending, and where he is serious. But still, it's not quite right.
I don't know how to express this... it's like Sherlock is off-balance (that was to be expected) but in the wrong way. I mean, he should be off-balance and strange and different, it's been 2 years. But somehow, his change in character... it could feel right because so much is wrong, but it doesn't.
I'm struggling. Something is definitely lost, which was there in series 1 and 2.
this episode is good, i like it. but it's not brilliant altogether, imo. makes me sad. it could have been.
god, that all sounds negative. it's not that I don't like it. I'm trying hard to befriend the new episode, but I never expected I would have to put effort in it
I like the first part of the episode mostly, and the last parts. somewhere in the middle, I started skipping scenes, while only watching it for the second time... :/
I would love a third episode that puts everything right, a big blast. But I don't dare to believe it now. Absolutely no expectations this time, don't want to hope for too much, again.
The Empty Hearse » The Bonfire & the Terrorist Plot » January 6, 2014 12:35 am |
Haven't read the blog post yet.
I was confused too... because when Sherlock realises what's going to happen (I think it's in 221b with John), doesn't he even say "vanishes... you kidnapped and nearly burned to death... at a fireworks..." (didn't understand every word). I thought then that it was a clue. But then Sherlock later said he didn't know what the bonfire and kidnapping was about...?
But then again, I don't get much of the case plot anyway in this episode. Either it's very complex, or just dull. That sounds harsh, sorry still trying to befriend the episode ;)

Because I get the feeling everybody managed to sneak somewhere... well, I managed that for ep1 too *wahh* but not for ep2 *sniff*
