It would be interesting to know Donovan's backstory...

If they did marry of John (hypothetically...I don't think they will, partially for reasons other people have pointed out), I would find it interesting to see how they characterize Mary. She isn't much of a character in the canon--she's just in The Sign of the Four and mentioned in a few others--and it would take a pretty amazing person to stay with John regardless of Sherlock.

That's another reason why I don't think they'll marry off John. It would change John and Sherlock's relationship too much, and Moftiss has (have??) said many times that Sherlock and John's relationship is the basis of the story.

...although it would be pretty funny to see how Sherlock reacted.

So if it is pronounced like an actor's bow, then it's probably referring to "His Last Bow." However, like Chrissi said, that doesn't nessicarily mean it's the end of Sherlock, as Moftiss did say they were going to have another cliffhanger at the end of series 3. Although I think their current contract only goes through the end of series 3, so maybe it will be the end. I certainly hope it isn't...

Thanks!

Arya! Our next door neighbours' son flew out to the USA, with his dad, yesterday to go to Iowa. He is about to start studying for his degree at Iowa University but he's mostly there because he plays golf and they have a great programme there for golfers.

Cool! I live really close to the University of Iowa, and it's always nice to know someone else has some sort of connection to Iowa

Does lorry just mean car? It's one of those British words I can't seem to figure out. I hope it goes well!

It was 33 degrees Celsius today and most of my school doesn't have air conditioning. It's supposed to be just as hot tomorrow. Perfect

Loved the 5th series. Just watched it for the first time last week

Are the books any good? I haven't read them yet...

It's official now: series 7 is premiering on September 1, at least on BBC America... http://www.bbcamerica.com/doctor-who/

If you enjoy old sci-fi, you might like Orson Scott Card's "Ender's Game" series. Apart from being great sci-fi, it also has amazing characters and some interesting ethical and philisophical things in it.

Rache would work, too. Although then everyone who doesn't know SH and knows German would wonder why you named your violin revenge...

It interests me how in some of his stories ACD wrote the criminal's life story. My assumption is that it was probably to try to humanize his antagonists. However, I always found these sections rather slow, and I basically skimmed through the Jefferson Hope one.

Finally, we can actually see her face.

Sherlock does and doesn't have a clue. He can play Molly, for example, when he has to, but then doesn't understand (or care) when he's insulting her or not being kind by saying that her boyfriend is gay. He understands how to get information out of people (they don't want to tell you things, but they love to contradict you), but he doesn't understand the sentiment re the Pink Lady's stillborn daughter or the dog in Hounds.

So what do we make of that?

Sentiment is where Sherlock makes mistakes. Yes, he can play Molly--but he didn't know she liked him until SiB. Most of Sherlock and John's arguments are about sentiment, wether it's because Sherlock has been rude enough to John that John snaps, like in HoB, or because Sherlock is being overly uncaring, like in TGG. Sherlock understands sentiment, but only to a certain extent.

@skitty, hypergreenfrog, Irene, and the Doctor- Thanks! I'll definitely watch the Slience in the Library arc and the finale arc. I'll probably go back and watch the rest later when I'm Doctor Who deprived and missing the tenth

@kazza--It looks interesting. I hope it will be good...

I've only watched the first 3 series, but I finally gave in and watched the trailer. It looks amazing . Just the picture looks so much better than it does in the first few series.

For those of you who have seen all of the series--could I skip the fourth series without missing too much?

Yes, most of my friends like Sherlock, but no one else is really obsessed with it. It's really amusing how everyone always asks me what the TRF theories are

Yeah, come on people! I mean, I know the fall football season is almost here, but we all have HIGHER priorities than watching a bunch of guys get TBI chasing after a football!

Oh, you don't live in Ann Arbor, home of the Wolverines.

But, seriously, I'd love it if we could get something happening.

That would be awesome

It would be so boring if they did that But they have to put in hints of emotion, especially affection; Sherlock can't be too unrelatable.
