Series Three Suggestions & Ideas » How will John react when he finds out Sherlock isn't dead? » May 21, 2013 9:41 pm

I'd like to see him punch Sherlock personally....then kiss him.

That would certainly be ideal , hehe
Like I said in another topic, I agree with what Moffat or Gatiss said, it feels more likely that John would swear and curse rather than faint like John in the books. So I imagine John's reaction to be something like..."Sees Sherlock...utter shock...Sherlock says something....John walks forward...big hug, relief...Sherlock seems somewhat surprised...John pulls away...punches him and starts swearing and much much shouting..." Could be wrong though, somehow I doubt I'm that far off  ...we'll see, I just want to see a hug, please give us a hug between the boys!

I just remembered that there was another one I loved! 'Tis right up there with my favourites, it particularly is of the heart-wrenching, deeply moving sobbing kind...and so very well done;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhM4Kd5Ov38 - Hurt by Johnny Cash, Sherlock

Music » Coldplay » May 21, 2013 1:39 pm

I adore Coldplay!  Not my favourite band, but very very close  ...my favourite songs of theirs are; The Scientist, Warning Sign, Clocks, Green Eyes, Fix You, Yellow and Every Teardrop is a Waterfall.

QE - thanks! I just love the way John is introduced to us in the first show - so sad and alone and yet there's something so stoic and noble in his suffering. I loved him from the start.

Same here , there truly is no better best, loyal and devoted friend than John Watson...and Martin fills that role so completely, and expands upon it in a way I never would've dreamed, though Sherlock is my favourite I have a hard time deciding at times...because, they're both so amazing in their own unique ways it feels like there is no Sherlock without John, and vice versa...they're soul mates, I don't believe soul mates has to be considered actual "mates", you can have a soul mate in friendship too.

Books » What are you reading at the moment? » May 21, 2013 1:25 pm

Right now I'm reading a series of books by Canadian author Kelley Armstrong, called "Women of the Otherworld", it is of the supernatural genre. Very good so far , I've also just finished reading The Legend of Zelda Hyrule Historia and Dragon Age World of Thedas, and a few novels by author Libba Bray. I love her stuff, the Gemma Doyle Trilogy and Going Bovine are great books! I highly reccomend them

So many wonderful videos here!
I've been watching a lot for a while, and so far there are two that are my absolute favourites! They make me both smile and cry, break my heart a little too, I didn't see them linked here so here they are;

Costume » Sherlock's costume- Series 1 and 2 » May 21, 2013 1:12 pm

Here it is, clean and simple; epic Sherlock coat and scarf = sexiest Sherlock Holmes outfit ever!
I would love to have that coat <3

Soundtrack » Sheet Music to Theme Tune » May 21, 2013 1:09 pm

Awesome! I'm actually learning a few different themes from the show right now, on the Piano, including "One More Miracle" ...pretty easy to guess where that theme plays, I could barely get through the first measure

I am on record as saying if we didn't get a hug between the boys this time...well, I dunno what I will do.  I may just have to put up with it, tho!

Agreed, on both counts. Sigh.

I'm agreed also...damn I want to see a hug!
As for my theories...well...I've been going over and over The Reichenbach Fall in my head, rewatching Sherlocks "suicide" (admittedly not a wise movie, I know he's alive and all, but I dehydrated myself from crying ) and there are just so many things in the episode that could indicate a part of Sherlocks plan...that I am convinced Moffat and Gatiss put some things in there that will have no bearing on it whatsoever just to mess with us and keep us guessing! Which, though slightly annoying, is interesting and kind of a good thing I guess...it wouldn't be as good if it were easy to guess. I figure it'll be something either so simple or incredibly complicated, obviously there are things that happened or were there that we didn't see and though there are hints, I doubt it's possible to figure out exactly how Sherlock pulled it off. Still, it is fun to guess. I'm thinking Molly and Mycroft have to be in on it somehow, Molly for obvious reasons (being a Doctor) and given Mycrofts position in the government...who better to get help from to "disappear" for a while? I'm not 100% convinced of that though, Sherlock is incredibly smart to say the least, he probably could've figured out something like without his brothers assisstance, maybe. Here are just a couple things I am pretty much sure of;

Sherlock jumped off that building, I'd be very surprised if he didn't...where he actually landed, I have no idea and if he did land, he must've landed on or in something.
Molly is involved in some way.
The bicycle guy knocked John out of the way to prevent him from seeing something.
The truck/bus thing was

Whatever happens, I want it to be wonderful and emotional and tragic, so that I can cry and scream at the tv and melt down on the floor. Seriously, after waiting so long I need a wonderful reunion.

I fear that since the Moftiss knows this is what all the fans want, they will find some way to thwart a wonderful reunion, leaving us to gnash our teeth in frustration; however, I do expect there will be something emotional, shocking or otherwise amazing just when we've given up hope and least expect it . So hold on - it's gonna be a roller coaster ride.

I want to see a wonderful reunion too! Though I picture it going something like this "John sees Sherlock...John is in shock, Sherlock says something...John walks forward...hugs Sherlock, Sherlock is somewhat surprised...John pulls away...punches Sherlock and starts cursing and shouting at him..." I don't know, could be wrong , but I do agree with what Moffat or Gatiss said, it does seem more likely that, unlike Watson in the books, a long string of swear words is more likely than John simply fainting.
I do agree with what others have said though, it feels like Sherlock could show up suddenly in a dangerous situation much to everyone's surprise. Still, it is one of those scenes that has extremely high expectations from fans, but considering the awesomeness that has transpired so far...I have faith that Moffat and Gatiss will deliever us an appropriate and awesome reunion, though it may be different than some of us had hoped. We'll see  ...Sadly, I don't have TV so I'll have to wait until the show comes out on DVD to find out  ...I may just have to go ahead and spoil myself about that one point so I can survive a little bit longer

The Hounds Of Baskerville » whats your favourite part of this episode?? » May 21, 2013 12:27 pm

Oh that's tricky...I have many different fav scenes, little moments, etc. Here are just a few I can think of atm (I really need to watch the series again); the part in the Inn where the guy asks John "Is yours a snorer?" Johns reaction, so funny and cute I think . Like Marheri above me said, the scene in the lab with Sherlock telling John it's ok and Johns reaction. And the part with John and Sherlock by the fire and Sherlock is overcome with emotion and confusion after having "seen the hound", and then the next day where he sees John in the graveyard and talks to him and says "I don't have friends, I've just got one." ...I do believe I caught my breath and my heart jumped a little when I heard that! And of course, when John just walks away so awesome and almost Hobbit like and Sherlock calls after him. Oh, and a bit later when Sherlock hands John the cup of coffee, great moment there. And also when Lestrade first shows up, Sherlock is hilarious!

Other Adaptations » Jeremy Brett's Sherlock Holmes » May 21, 2013 12:14 pm

Well that's what I mean; we know Ben watched a lot of JB & so it appears he has to some degree based Sherlock on JB's Holmes.(I like to call Cumberbatch's version "Sherlock" and Bate's version "Holmes" seems natural really)
The question I wondered about that is "Is it deliberate or is this the way Ben imagine's he would be anyway", which must have been influenced by seeing JB's Holmes at an early stage in his viewing life.

Is that understandable?

I would say so, people are usually inspired by somewhere, and though they bring their own interpretation and creative bent there could sometimes be remnents of their initial inspiration in their performance, makes sense.
Jeremy Brett was the first screen Holmes I truly loved, I had seen many adaptations before, but he was my favourite...until I saw Benedict. Still, both those two are my top favs. In fact, I saw an interesting list of the top ten guys who have portrayed Sherlock Holmes, and once I got to 2nd and 1st place I thought "Hm, I haven't seen Jeremy or Benedict yet in this list yet...they better be top 1 and 2 or I'll be mad!!!!! ", uh anyway, Benedict ended up being 2nd and Jeremy 1st...I was ok with that, I might've switched that around, but it would've been a difficult choice. I love both those guys
