Just saw it!

Martin is handsome as ever!

Also, really impressed with his American accent.

Can I just say that the Cumber collective must include some of the most patient members in the entire fandom universe....?

They've already tortured us with Sherlock, and now we have eleven months to wait for the release of Doctor Strange.

Haha, if I saw a Speedy's I would flip out.

Might I suggest a Whack-a-Moriarty game?
Little Moriarty heads popping out, but instead of a hammer I think a riding crop would be more appropriate.

Yes, I agree.

Real John doesn't seem the type to make his wife cook his meals and clean the house.
And in reality, he is aware that she is an ex-assassin perfectly capable of defending herself. And then, in his first mystery with Sherlock, he was almost killed by a woman. So I think he knows not to underestimate us.

Sherlock in modern day, Sherlock in New York City, Sherlock the great mouse detective and now Sherlock the gnome!

Has there ever been such a versatile character?

Just watched this BBC One reel, which included clips of Sherlock (and some other awesome looking dramas coming out but I digress..)

http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/sherlock/news/a773319/the-drama-hots-up-in-a-new-trailer-for-the-bbcs-upcoming-season/

Was that Benny/Sherlock with long, slightly messy hair?
That must have been from the Special right?

If so I'm wondering what circumstance has Sherlock rocking that style?? We've not seen it in any other clips....

I'm definitely going to watch it. Daredevil was really one of the best series I've ever watched, so I'm expecting Jessica Jones to be great too. I like that Marvel's exploring a darker sort of atmosphere...David Tennant's characters seems really frightening in this trailer, I can actually sense his malevolence!

This movie was so bittersweet, very well done and a spectaular performance (as expected) from Sir Ian McKellan!

Maybe because I'm always thinking of him as John I couldn't help laughing a bit. Especially when he was in the suit with the cake. Anyway, cool vid, cool song... and Martin's great as always!

According to this site, Gatiss posted on Twitter,

“… the stars were shining coldly in a cloudless sky,”

“  … it was a bitter night, so we drew on our ulsters and wrapped cravats around our throats,”

...whihch points to The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle...

I wouldn't know enough about the UK college system to answer this. I don't know what majors exists. What would make sense for John? What majors are there for him? Math? Is there something medical?

I think UK colleges are similar to U.S colleges in that they offer a wide arrange of degrees, like Economics, Psychology, Visual Arts, etc...

Yes, John is a doctor, so I guess it makes sense that he would have a medical degree. Maybe a masters in medicine or surgery....

@ Harriet:
lol, that is a justifiable opinion. Though I think in canon it is mentioned that Sherlock went to college (I beleive it was in the Musgrave Ritual)

@tobeornot221b:

Oh, I completely missed that! Thankyou! That makes me happy, since I'm considering a chem major myself.

So I'm in the process of applying to college and that got me thinking...what degrees might the characters in Sherlock have?
This might be a kind of silly question but I'm just really curious about what other people have to say on the matter.

I made a strange squealing noise at the beginning of this trailer which thankfully no one was around to hear.

Anyway, that was brilliant! Finally we get an actual look at the plot. Definitely seems darker, but in a good way (perhaps this is preparation for the confirmed "darker" season 4?).

And Sherlock's line... "Nothing made me, I made me".

I really liked that last bit about the hat. Kind of like Moftiss were saying, "Yeah this is a more sinister story, but still with the good old fashioned banter between Sherlock and John!"

I don't know if these few short snippets justify a new thread, but I wasn't entirely sure where else to put the link to them.

Some keen-eyed Sherlockians might be able to spot more clues about the Special's premise, though honestly I haven't gained much insight except that I'm liking Benedict's Victorian Sherlock more and more.

Martin wrote a letter to PM David Cameron asking to end the use of wild animals in circus acts.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/martin-freeman-appeals-david-cameron-6523140

I for one think this is magnificent, and am super proud of Martin Freeman for bringing attention to something that is often overlooked and ignored. We don't see a lot about what goes on behind the scenes at a circus, but many of the practices used are clearly cruel and inhumane.

Animals may not be as advanced as the human species, but they stilll have feelings and can't endure pain, loneliness or neglect, just like us.

Kudos to you Mr. Freeman for once again involving yourself in a just cause!
