I too like the three 90 minute episode format, but I agree I wish we got them yearly instead of every two years. I also understand about the availability of Freeman and Cumberbatch though.

That's a tampered with version.

Is the real version.

Why would Magnussen fake his death? The gun was loaded anyway, John brought it, and I'm sure Mycroft and his men would have actually made sure the guy was dead before shoving Sherlock on the plane.

Sherlock told him to. "Did you bring your gun as I suggested?" "Why would I bring my gun to your parents' house for Christmas dinner?" "Is it in your coat?" "Yes."

That entire scene was done beautifully. I teared up during the whole thing, especially with the music in the background. They really outdid themselves with the soundtrack this series.

I got the feeling that Sherlock cares a lot more for John, than John cares for Sherlock. I mean, he didn't see him for a month, didn't ask about what happened during the hiatus, he certainly wasn't at Sherlock's side in the hospital....they've become distant. At least, for John.

Well, yeah!    John has lots of friends--well, people he knows and can hang out with...he's "normal," to all outward appearances, anyway.  But Sherlock only has one friend: John.  So the gap in his life caused by Sherlock's absence, while devastating at first, eventually dulled and can be filled in a way by being around other people he gets along with.  But Sherlock doesn't have other people he can hang out with, so he feels the absence of John more deeply.  That's why Sherlock shows emotion in the farewell scene but John doesn't.  Sherlock needs John but John doesn't need Sherlock to be happy.

Reading this legitimately made me feel really, really sad. I'm big on the bromance between the two, but I understand after what Sherlock did to John, John would feel more distance from him.

One thing I"m wondering is did she really call the ambulance, or is that something Sherlock made up to try to get John to forgive her?

My thoughts on it. But really, it's going to be a heck of a long wait for series 4.   I personally think he's either alive or it's the brother. It'd be one thing if it was just image of him with the puppet-like mouth going 'Miss me?'. But when we first see Lestrade, we see the back of his head which shifts slightly and has to eventually turn around to be the usual 'Miss me?' image we got an eyefull of. That and the post-credits Moriarty clip.

Not to mention, has Moriarty's body even been acknowledged? Most I can think of is in TEH when Anderson is telling Lestrade one of his crazy theories about using Moriarty's body to duplicate a Sherlock corpse, which to me, indicates at least his body was missing. Lestrade didn't correct him about it.

While I like Molly I don't like the idea of Sherlock and Molly. Even after he was shot and in his Mind Palace with Moriarty, he was taunting Sherlock with the people he cares about and would be leaving behind to mourn him. Mentions Mrs. Hudson, The Woman, his parents, and John. While I think he does care and respect Molly, I don't think he harbors romantic feelings towards her. Especially with the Irene mentions this series.

another new poster to these forums, though I've been devouring posts in here since Series 3. Seems like a really fun place.
