Do you think your strenuous weekend was to blame for that? Little sleep, emotional stress, Deutsche Bahn adventure...I hope you're doing better now.

No no, not to worry, it had nothing to do with the weekend. It was a combination of not having eaten breakfast, standing around for too long, being hot in the clothes I was wearing and my usual too-low blood pressure

Oh,  you fainted? Are you ok again? Hmm... you are little bit late then.

Yep, I'm all okay, thanks

I think I stopped breathing for the whole mind palace scene. A wonder we did not need an ambulance.

I made up for that and fainted at work today and they even called an ambulance, which was totally unnecessary but well... *sigh*

Oh no...! Oberleitungsschaden? Well, hopefully not, maybe I shouldn't have mentioned it...

No, they settled for "Störungen im Betriebsablauf", which can mean pratically anything *rolleyes*

Okay good, so I just won't say a word about any kind of HLV spoiler... I really don't want to spoil the fun for anyone.

I'm all packed now, so I'm ready to go!

I agree with everyone about the spoilers, but just so we're clear: does this include spoilers that have been around for a long time? I mean like the little bits and pieces about HLV that were already on the spoiler thread some time ago...

Gosh, that's early...! When will you arrive in Ratingen?

According to the schedule, I'll arrive at 12:16 pm. But I might have a quick look around Duesseldorf in-between, because otherwise I'll be at the hotel way too early...

Is anybody else arriving earlier than 2 pm and wants to meet up somewhere?

5:37? Wow... but you already told me about this long journey. I really appreciate that you do this... for a "nice cry".

Ah well, I'm SO looking forward to meeting other Sherlockians that I really don't mind the long journey. And my Kindle is filled to the brink with Sherlck fanfic, so time'll probably pass quickly and then it's time for HLV! *very excited*

Does anybody come by train and has figured out how to get there? I'm not sure which is the nearest tram station? (on the hotel internet page I've found only directions for cars, and I'm not very familiar with the trams around Düsseldorf...)

I'm coming by train too - I'll take the S6 from Duesseldorf Hbf, arriving at Ratingen Ost. From there, it's apparently a 15min walk. There might even be a bus or something, so if it rains or anything I'll have a look at the schedule there.

My train leaves at 5:37 am  guess I'll go to bed soon tonight... why am I doing this again? Oh right - so that I can cry together with you all

The Sign of Three » CAM's wedding message to Mary » January 6, 2014 11:29 am

Of course, he might have been acting - you can't really be sure with Sherlock... But it's also very Sherlockian that he got bored very quickly by all those messages saying the same stuff and therefore abandoning the whole thing

The Sign of Three » So... I've Got a Theory » January 6, 2014 11:19 am

Oh god, I made the mistake and listened to them... every single preview of HLV sounds like background music for a funeral! Especially the last one, no. 22. This is so not good.

Because I get the feeling everybody managed to sneak somewhere... well, I managed that for ep1 too *wahh* but not for ep2 *sniff*

Maybe you'll be able to watch it online somewhere before next weekend?

And boy, am I grateful to whoever suggested we meet for the third episode, not the first... We're SO going to need each other's support

I thought they were two separate telegrams. The one where she is refered to as "poppet" she seemed to be happy about, but then the CAM one she was upset over. I don't think those are both the same telegram.

/random aside

I rewatched that scene a couple of times now, and it's hard to tell whether these two are different telegrams or not. First I thought you were right, but if the poppet one was separate, wouldn't there have been the name of who sent it at the end?

It's also interesting that Sherlock doesn't seem to recognize the abbreviation "CAM", but in the trailer for HLV he speaks about him with such hatred, like he's known about CAM's doing for ages... Guess there must be some time between episodes 2 and 3.

In this screencap of the trailer, I'm wondering, could this be Sherlock's hand on the hospital bed?  If you look, it looks like a man's body (with no gown and a blood pressure cuff on the bicep).  What are your thoughts?

There used to be quite a lot of pictures of Sherlock's/Benedict's hands in the picture threads here in the forum... maybe we should try and compare them ;)

But yes, I am also very much scared of HLV and of the horrible things I feel are going to happen there...  I think it's simply going to be heartbraking. Not to mention the terrible cliffhanger which will probably make Reichenbach look like a birthday party. And then the endless waiting again...

(Wait, how in the world did I become afraid of an episode of a TV show?? Damn you, Moftiss )

OK, some more fun quotes for Susi

Sherlock: "Let's talk about... murder. Sorry, did I say murder? I meant marriage. Although the two have lots in common!"

Mrs. Hudson: "I brought your morning tea! You're not usually awake..."
Sherlock: "You bring me tea in the morning?"
Mrs. Hudson: "Well, where did you think it came from?"
Sherlock: "I don't know, just thought it sort of... happened."
Mrs. Hudson: "Your mother has a lot to answer for."
Sherlock: "I know, I have a list. Mycroft has a file."

(Quoting from my memory here, not sure about the exact words^^)

The Sign of Three » Favourite quotes » January 6, 2014 9:42 am

Well, if we're drowning in feels anyway, let's not forget about this one...

"I’ve never made a vow in my life and after tonight, I never will again, so here in front of you all – my first, and last, vow. Mary and John – whatever it takes, whatever happens, from now on, I swear I will always be there. Always."

The Empty Hearse » The Empty Hearse - favorite quotes thread » January 5, 2014 1:47 pm

Sherlock: "Not an underground network, John - it's an Underground network!"
John: "... Right."

Sherlock (to Mycroft): "I thought perhaps you might have hired yourself a... goldfish."

Sherlock: "I don't understand!"
John: "Well, that's a first."

The Empty Hearse » Canon Nods » January 5, 2014 12:51 pm

I didn't find these two myself, but I saw them on Wikipedia and thought they shouldn't go unmentioned :

At one point, John asks the bearded man selling DVDs if his usual GP is named "Dr. Verner", who, in "The Adventure of the Norwood Builder", is a cousin of Sherlock Holmes who buys Watson's practice so he can move back into his old rooms on Baker Street upon Holmes's return.

Mary is seen reading John's blog, and the passage she reads aloud is an almost verbatim excerpt from chapter six of The Sign of Four ("[s]o swift, silent, and furtive were his movements, like those of a trained bloodhound picking out a scent...").

I've read interviews with Benedict where he said Sherlock would never tell John that he jumped to save his life.  And we see that played out in the cafe when John said "I don't care how you faked it.  I want to know why."  Sherlock lies about it being to stop Moriarty instead of telling him that it was to save his friends.  He has to continue that lie that John was not in danger so he concocts the bit about Mycroft having a sniper on John's sniper.  Theory 3 is as detailed as it is because Sherlock is trying to work out all the holes in his lie beforehand.

But in his latest blog post, John specifically states "Turns out he'd faked his death because Moriarty had threatened those close to him. Including me."

So supposedly, Sherlock did indeed tell him about that at some point?
