What are you top 5 favorite TV shows of all time? Let's exclude Sherlock since we're all here, we already know we all love it

Feel free to break it down by comedy/drama/childhood favs/whatever.

My all-time list, in no particular order:

West Wing
Slings and Arrows
Battlestar Galactica
Dexter
Game of Thrones

Of all the shows I've obsessively watched, or in passing curiosity, or that lived a long life, or didn't, or still continue on… hrrn… the top 5??  Oi…  well, not going to mention any from 'way back', because we already had a thread recently about 'favorites from yesteryear'. (heck, easy to see a lot of interesting favorites we have in common just in the 'other shows' section!)  So, mine as of now…..

NCIS
Doctor Who
House of Cards
Leverage and Mentalist - tied
Being Human (UK version!!)

Honorable Mentions to Once Upon A Time, Southland, and Touch…  sniff…  you were so wonderful, then died an early death and/or started getting so convoluted!

(and despite not having room for them, a high-five for your mention of GoT and West Wing!)

We solve crimes, I blog about it, and he forgets his pants.  I wouldn't hold out too much hope!

Just this morning you were all tiny and small and made of clay!

I'm working my way up the greasy pole.  It's… very greasy.  And…  pole-shaped.

Somehow there are not so many TV shows I like besides Sherlock

1. Spartacus
2. The Office
3. Mein Leben & Ich (only airing in Germany)
4. Tatort
5. Game of Thrones

That's it. I would like to give Dr. Who a try but it's not currently airing here in Germany as far as I know and I have no idea where to watch it online.

Cool.... neat to again see a few similarities pop up among fans with certain tastes!  And just wanted to add that 'Doctor' Who is indeed awesome (well, alright, depending on who you talk to, enjoying sci-fi-ish campy adventure or not, or even the different Old old classic/original version!), and just wanted to ask if you had Netflix or not?  Because all the new seasons (and a lot of the classic old stuff) is up there!

Hmm...well, it's so difficult to get around to watching adult TV anymore (yay toddlers).  But I'll try.

1. Doctor Who
2. Game of Thrones
3. Battlestar Galactica (recent version)
4. The X-Files
5. Star Trek: DS9
6. Full Metal Alchemist
7. Fruits Basket

And Tantalus, I love your list  I used to watch all of those 80's detective shows with my mom.  My sister and I were convinced that my mom was going to marry Tom Sellack XD
