Sherlock Holmes has been awarded a Guiness World Record reports The Radio Times. The detective is now the Most Portrayed Literary Human Character in Film and TV.

love this!   Sherlock is such an iconic character.   Fun facts from the article:

-Sherlock has been on screen 254 times.

-First appearance was a 30 second 1890 film.

-75 actors have played Sherlock so far… I'm sure that's not even counting various plays and radio.
