And write like that, too. She had their voices right down pat. I lol'd when I saw Sherlock sitting on his beach blanket dressed in his usual suit, shirt, dress shoes, etc. John was too funny.  Loved the ending. Thanks so much for passing this along, Ivy. I never would have seen it without you. Now I'm going to go make sure *I* pass it on....

You're welcome. Deviantart is such a beautiful place.

Speaking of comics, have you seen reapersuns "30 days OTB challenge"? Her drawing and writing is pretty brilliant, too.

Thanks for your recs, Ivy!
Oh, how am I supposed to work and sleep when always distracted by all those fics... You should have seen me today in a packed train, hardly able to stand but glued to my Kindle...

Mrs Hudson: "They don’t matter. You do."

Since reading fanfic I've practically become one with my Kindle.

We do look like a funny bunch, don't we, with our rose-colored slash glasses welded to our faces and our noses stuck in our Kindles. It's amazing we can even walk a straight line and chew gum at the same time anymore. *smile*

Yes, reading slash does funny things to your brain, doesn't it? I'm just in the middle of a new one, I'll report back if it's any good.

I admit I'm a fast reader but I use every second at the moment. I even read when cooking lunch. Could be dangerous.

I like the little short stories that go along with some of the comics. So clever! And talented.
But I don't understand the red underpants reference-- an inside joke? I missed something, somewhere.

Depends on what you cook. I have a timer on my computer set for tea, rice, potatoes ...

Could be dangerous when using knives.

Not dangerous but annoying: While reading I'm so often running the risk of knitting complete nonsense.

Yeah it's fandom thing, I had no idea either for a long time. Here's an explanation.

Red Pants Monday: n. A meme made popular on Tumblr by artists who post original drawings and paintings (and also fic and even NSFW cosplay) depicting John wearing red y-front briefs, and usually little else. Red Pants Monday is not only a weekly excuse for porn, but also an homage to BNF Reapersun, who was the first to draw John in his red undies. The drawings sometimes include Sherlock stealing the red pants or Sherlock in his own pair of briefs -- these with a large yellow and black bee on the front.

By the way, Martin Freeman knows about it, he said that at that "The game is on" event thing recently. Well Martin knows about Johnlock in general...

So does his wife/partner Amanda. Fortunately, both of them think it's funny and maybe a little bit interesting, shall we say.

And the result are pants instead of socks. Surprise!

I know, they are probably sitting together at their computer and scrolling through tumblr giggling.
It's great that they are cool with it.

And here's another one: To Light Another's Path by BeautifulFiction
This is quite a long story which starts with Sherlock getting sick and John caring for him. In this situation their relationship develops from friendship into something more. Strong emphasis on the dramatic and emotional side, but there is also a case to be solved. Characters are quite convincing. No AU. Rating: explicit.

To quote John Irving: You've got to get obsessed and stay obsessed.
