Yes somebody had mentioned catching Tom Hiddleston, too...what's this all about?!

Tom Hiddleston came right after the credits on BBC, but that was because he was part of the commercial that came afterwards. Or so I interpreted it anyway.

No, because he was part of a BBC commercial. Tom isn't on the Netflix version either.

Here in the UK there was a BBC trailer about their drama programmes shown straight after Sherlock. Yes, it was Tom Hiddleston at the beginning, and there's a glimpse of Sherlock later.
