Cologne, please.

I am all for Cologne.

That way the filmmakers and stars can misplace the town, fly into Cologne on Elbe instead

so that I don´t have it very far to travel... and that way I can see them in advance (cackle).

What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

Cologne on Elbe, don´t forget that.

Sherlockology dabbles into Dr. Strange a bit too. Here is their fine primer guide to the character:

Yes, the combined power of both profiles makes one weak in the knees...

Thank you for the link, nakahara. I have been wondering what happened to Sherlockology. It was my main source of information when I joined the fandom but it seems that with series 3 they somehow lost their grip. Hardly any information about props and costumes, no calendar since 2014. Sorry for getting OT.

Ooh, I like all the little similarities between Sherlock Holmes and Stephen Strange that they pointed out, especially Strange's very Baker Street-sounding address

I too have wondered why they have so few informations on Sherlock lately.
Maybe they are just too busy organising a new Sherlock event?

And something that makes me happy: after Germany missing out on TAB in cinemas and getting it months later than most other countries, we will get Doctor Strange on 27 October, one day earlier than the UK and a full week earlier than the US. Must be magic.

Oh good to know, I thought we have to wait til next year.

Kolin or Koln, what does it matter for the filmmakers? I´m still having my fingers crossed that they misplace the town and land in this one, where I can reach them more easily.

Another trailer breakdown
http://www.digitalspy.com/movies/doctor-strange/feature/a790453/doctor-strange-trailer-benedict-cumberbatch-first-look-things-we-learned/
I'm still wondering why it appears Strange already has bandages on his hands in the scene showing him in the car accident at the start of the trailer. I guess I'll find out when I watch the film.

Just ordered some Dr. Strange comics from Amazon.

My favorite moment of the trailer is when he's on his knees and says "Teach me."     *thud*

And here is the intro Benedict did for the trailer on Jimmy Kimmel's show!

Can anyone tell me what Benedict says at the very start of his intro?

I couldn't make out what he said over the applause, either.  "Ben C."? I couldn't tell.

I ended up watching it before I had my breakfast this morning on my little iPod Touch, which was probably not a good idea - I couldn't tell what I was looking at at the beginning so I didn't realize that the car was a car.

It sure sounds like he's doing an American accent for this - I suppose he did his usual accent for the Jimmy Kimmel intro so as not to spoil that.

I wasn't expecting too much from a "teaser" trailer, so I was surprised at how long it was.  The effects were cool, but personally it didn't get me that excited (though of course that could be because part of me doesn't want to be...I don't know).  But the effects did look cool and the flashback/flashforward shots in the same poses and locations were an interesting choice.  Creepy medical stuff can make me uncomfortable, so seeing his hands and arms rigged to that device...I know there's something similar to that in real life, but it was a bit too much for me, in a way.  It looks a bit too creepy in some ways.  I've seen some creepy stuff, but somehow it sort of rubbed me the wrong way.  I guess it's just that I wasn't expecting to see that much of that aspect of it already, maybe.  I'm still not sure.  It still looks more interesting than other superhero movies, though.
I'm really trying not to be a wet blanket, but I don't have enough information to go by to be sure how badly I want to see this yet, sorry everyone.  I'm still not sure how I feel about all this.

I really enjoyed watching that reaction video, though, that guy looked really excited and it made me smile.

Yitzock, there is no need to apologize...!
In the end it's all a matter of taste. And let's face it, if you're not into these kind of movies, then it's totally fine if you stay a bit sceptical, Benedict or no Benedict. And in my opinion this should definitely also be a place for voicing more cautious opinions.

What wet blanket are you speaking about, Yitzock? You are absolutely entitled to your opinion. You feel how you feel, it´s no good to pretend otherwise.

And creepy medical stuff icks me too... still, next to that, we have also some captivating acting from Benedict in this movie and that puts that scary medical stuff into oblivion for me...
