Since there are even more rumored and failed-to-materialize projects for Benedict as there are for Martin, I think it would be handy to have a round-up thread for him, too! (If a rumored project is confirmed, we could give it its own thread at that point.)

Here's a rumor to start with: Benedict may have said yes to joining the cast of Horrible Bosses 3--a film which has not yet been even green-lighted.

Thanks for opening. I have another rumour (not exactly new) which I would honestly prefer to Horrible Bosses 3:

"To fake the death of one sibling may be regarded as a misfortune; to fake the death of both looks like carelessness." Oscar Wilde about Mycroft Holmes

"It is what it is says love." (Erich Fried)

“Enjoy the journey of life and not just the endgame. I’m also a great believer in treating others as you would like to be treated.” (Benedict Cumberbatch)

I can only see the first few paragraphs without subscribing, but yes, that would be a better project!

Same with me. I think that is all the information on Benedict there is in the article. He mentioned it more than once and he usually gets the parts he desires so let us keep our fingers crossed.

I so wish this was true. Sounds really great.

I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

I could only see the first bit too. I had to look up which books the article was referring to, I assume it's the Patrick Melrose books by Edward St. Aubyn? (First 3 books are titled Never Mind, Bad News, and Some Hope, although I read somewhere it's a quintet). They sound interesting. I think they are set in contemporary times, does anyone know?

I guess Benedict would be going after the main character role? Fingers crossed he gets it

This appears to be more than a rumour, but I'm not sure

Benedict to voice the Grinch?
