I just adore Mycroft, he's my favorite character. All my favorite scenes contain Mycroft.

And Mark so completely changes when he plays him; his voice, his accent, the way he moves, his posture, not to mention the look.

I've just read that great USA today interview that SusiGo posted a link to.

I thought this little bit about Mycroft/Sherlock was very interesting -

The series explores the effects of childhood on the adult Sherlock, partly through his competition with his brother Mycroft (Mark Gatiss).

"He wasn’t born to be an antisocial, difficult boy," he says. "I think he’s trying to keep up with Mycroft’s intelligence and it skewed the normal trajectory of childhood play and friendships in order to try and perfect this brain, this ability to retain information."

Or Mycroft born special and Sherlock aspired to it.
