I usually hate wings, too, but in this case it seems to fit quite well. Sherlock is from the angel's side and Moriarty, well, a kind of devil angel ;-). Makes perfectly sense to me. Also, the drawing is not kitschy at all (which are most wing-drawings). The picture from Neptune's smartphone is very beautiful, too. The colouring is fantastic!

No wings! It's okay! I was just using the 'wings' thing as a slight tangent shift to that pic, as it almost looks unfolded outward like wings. Sorry… didn't mean literally! (although I believe Marva's comment was talking about the wings pics, done by the same artist as the previous portrait)

Yes, the more I look it is DEFINITELY based on the same wallpaper as we have on the page here.
