Hello everyone,

I'd like to introduce you to our Sherlock (Holmes) Convention in Vienna this coming year!

Who?
We are “Baker Street Vienna – The Austrian Society of the Friends of Sherlock Holmes”, a group of people from all walks of life who have come together through our genuine appreciation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s creation. Our goal is to bring together people who share our interest in a yearly event called “Baker Street Vienna.”

What?
Baker Street Vienna is a Sherlock Holmes Convention taking place in Vienna, Austria, on the 14-15 of June 2014. Our location accommodates up to 300 people and will offer a diverse program of lectures, workshops, competitions and events you can participate in. We welcome all incarnations of Sherlock Holmes, from the original canon to the newest BBC and U.S. adaptation. We serve all ranges of fandom, from serious literary discussions to cosplay contests. Our event will be bilingual in English/German. Translations will be provided where possible.

Where do you come in?
Spread the news! Talk, write and tell about it! If you would like to participate (hold a lecture, workshop or competition, be part of our Artist’s Alley, sell your books/merchandise or sponsor us) please contact us. And of course we count on you to come. Could be dangerous!

You can find us under bakerstreetvienna.at

We are currently trying to get a guest star from BBC Sherlock and will keep you informed of course. Tickets will go on sale at the end of December.

Hope to see some of you there!

Silvia

Well apparently he's attending after all. I'll be sure to take a thudding mattress with me!

-----------------------------------

I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?
