Someone was kind enough to film the Q&A session with Martin Freeman at UCD and put it up on youtube.

Quite an interesting conversation! He seems like a wise man.

He said "We'll see in January with Sherlock"... Could it mean anything?

They're not showing S3 until January in the UK? *hangs head* OMG, then it'll be at least May for us, just as I feared. Another 6+ months, and we've already waited what feels like 10 years.

I won't believe anything until it's confirmed by the BBC
I mean, Martin could be winding us up. He likes doing that!

Saying that on purpose if untrue strikes me as unnecessary cruelty aimed at Sherlock's true fans-- MF would really do that? Admittedly I don't know much about him, but he doesn't seem the type to mislead people about such an important thing on purpose. All the fans here on the forum keep calling him cute and adorable, and I don't see that either, so.... maybe I'm missing who he actually is by a mile.
They've said all along that it'll be a Christmas showing on the BBC, so Christmas or mid-January, not much diff there. Either way, short of a miracle of God, it'll be May sweeps month for us. There is a sweeps month in February, but I have no hope for that. Sigh.

I was not insulting anyone, FYI. What I said was typical British humour. If you don't get it, that's fine. But I have nothing to apologise for.

Sorry you were insulted by what I wrote and were upset. Not my intention. Maybe I misunderstood what you said, as you misunderstood what I said! You said **I mean, Martin could be winding us up. He likes doing that!** and my response to that (the "saying that on purpose" thing) was meant in response to what he said, not what you said. I just found it hard to believe that Martin would ever deliberately say anything he knew to be untrue, just to "wind up" his fans, but-- you meant that as a joke when you said that? Well, I couldn't see your face or hear your tone of voice, so I had no way of knowing it was supposed to be funny! So anyway, sorry again, and let's move on.

Yes, Martin tends to have that effect
You're right Kitty, he absolutely loves winding us up. But in this context I think it just slipped out of his mouth without him really thinking about it. So January sounds more and more likely to me.
