I agree. Alone on the Water might be the saddest fic I've read and Third Star... I loved it but it made me emotionally dry for several days.

I think TS has its hopeful, uplifting sides but to me it remains a sad film nonetheless. And it made me cry. To see only the positive elements IMO would deny James's sadness about life going on without him. There is darkness and light, drama and comedy, that is the beautiful thing about the film.
