As does the one a little later on when, while sitting in the back of a taxi, Sherlock drags the lead crystal ashtray out of his pocket to show John. Souvenir!

Souvenir? Maybe - but John said earlier he had the urge to steal one (but of course his duty to Queen and Country wouldn't let him do it) so Sherlock nicked it for him. I see it as a surprise gift for John.

Well, I didn't exactly call it a legit-legal souvenir..... even nicked items can seem like a momento, and knowing it was nicked from people who would never miss it or the cost of it would tickle both of them. But yeah, I think Sherlock would get a great kick out of making John's (otherwise weird) day like that.

So true, I can't wait to see their first meeting, to see how they both deal with Sherlock's return and to see them doing the Sherlock-and-John-stuff again we all love so much.
